Officer Jenny Quests

The Officer Jenny quests are simple side quests with the intent to give story players an easy and good early game money source and also showing some basic Pokémon Revolution in-game mechanics.
Officer Jenny is located at 6 different cities in Kanto where she offers some quests. The quest's usually contain more or less simple tasks like catching a certain Pokémon or fighting specific trainers.

How it works

Officer Jenny can be met at 6 different locations; Viridian City, Pewter City, Cerulean City, Celadon City, Fuchsia City and Cinnabar Island.

On each location you can usually do around 3 quests. To start a quest you have to interact with Jenny, choose a quest she offers to you and accept it.
You can have as many quests active as you like, you also have no time limit. Once you finished a quest, you go back to her and recieve your reward which can lay between 1.250 and 12.000 Pokedollar, depending on the quest.

Not accepted quests are written in white, accepted quests in yellow, accomplished quests in green and accomplished quests where you also received the reward are blue-ish.

How to solve

Every quest has a small explanation. However, if you seek complete guidiance, this part is for you.

Viridian City

Spoiler

Jenny has generally always a name tag and is in Viridian located at the fountain right next to the Poké Center.

Spoiler

image.png.f5555265e195a16e67cb9f5d679a542b.png
Just to make sure: The red building is a Poké Center. Jenny always has a name tag on her and is therefore easy to find.

The tasks she offers you are:

Beat Bug Catcher Gerald.

He is located at Viridian Forest which lays north of Viridian City right after you passed Route 2. His team contains a level 7 Wurmple.

The reward is 3.000 Pokedollar.

Clear Route 1 of Rattata.

This means that you have to collect 3 pieces of the item "Rattata Hair" which can be held by Rattatas.

For that, Jenny provides you with the battle move Thief which allows to steal the held item of an opposing Pokémon.
Notice:

- TM's are only usable once in Pokémon Revolution, choose wisely. If you have no TM's left, you have to buy new ones.

- The stolen items are placed at the "held item spot" from your Pokémon. In case your Pokémon is already holding an item, it can not steal an item as it holds one already. Make sure your thiefing Pokémon holds no item.

Another way to obtain Rattata Hair is to catch them and look if they hold the item Rattata Hair, but using Thief is easier and therefore suggested.

The reward is 5.000 Pokedollar.

Catch a Sentret

Sentret is a common Pokémon at Route 1 (South of Viridian City), it is not hard to find. However, it only spawns during Morning and Day time.

Check the Pokétime on the top right of your screen. Morning is from 4 to 10, Day from 10 to 20 and Night from 20 to 4 (24 hour format).

The reward is 7.500 Pokédollar.

Pewter City

Spoiler

Jenny is located left to the Poké Center at some hill.

The tasks she offers you are:

Beat Brock

This one you have to do anyway as Brock is the Gym leader of Pewter City and is needed to be beaten in order to proceed with the story.
However, he can be tricky to beat. He uses Rock and Ground type Pokémon. Water, Fighting or Grass Pokémon are a good choice against him.
You can find some in the previous areas and Routes.
The reward is 1.250 Pokédollar.

Catch a Pikachu

Pikachu can be found at Viridian Forest. However, while it can be found all day, it is a uncommon Pokémon.
That means it can take a few minutes before you encounter one.

The reward is 3.500 Pokédollar and a Thunder Stone.

Teach a Pokémon Headbutt

You can find the Headbutt Tutor in the left entrance area of the Viridian Maze which is located in the middle of the Viridian Forest.

It costs 2.000 Pokédollar to teach a Pokémon the move.
In order to access the tutor you need to help Jerry who is infront of the maze and lost his Pidgey.

After defeating the Rocket Grunt in the entrance area of the maze you can return to the boy and you will receive 15 Pokéballs and an Escape Rope as a reward and the quest is done.

The reward is 5.000 Pokédollar and also an extra Jenny quest is activated.

Catch a Slicoon (Sub quest)

This one is a bit intricate/uneasy if you do this quest in your story run.
Slicoon is a Pokémon you can find in Headbutt trees at Pewter City.
Firstly you need the Boulder Badge (Brock - Pewter City) in order to use the move Headbutt on trees. But also the Pokémon with the move Headbutt needs at least 150 Happiness to use the move. You can check the happiness of a Pokémon by typing the command "/happy 1-6" (1-6 = Slot number of the Pokémon) in the chat box on the bottom right. A fresh caught Pokémon has a happiness value of 70 and usually gets 1 point for winning a fight and 5 for a level up => it can take some time to get to 150.
If you want more detailed information about the happiness of Pokémon, check out the Happiness Guide.

A Headbuttable tree is noticable by a sleeping emote on the tree.

The reward is 9.000 Pokédollar.

Cerulean City

Spoiler

Jenny is located left to the Poké Center.

The tasks she offers you are:

Effort Train a Pokémon

Means that you have to show her a Pokémon that has at least 50 EV's in sum.
The Wiki entry Effort Values explains what they are, in case you don't know.
Very simply spoken: By defeating trainer or wild Pokémon your Pokémon get stronger. Not only in level but also in their EV's. Your Pokémon EV's have a value and are shown as blue numbers in your Pokemon's info card which opens when you click on your Pokémon.
Usually you get 1-3 EV's per Pokémon beaten.
The reward is 10.000 Pokédollar.

Teach a Pokémon Dig

One easy way to teach the move Dig to a Pokémon is obtaining the TM by beating the Rocket Grunt infront of Cerulean City House 6 (Its the house on the top right of the Gym), entering the house and get the TM as reward from the boy. Now you can teach it almost any Rock or Ground Pokémon for example. To enter that house however, you need the Gym badge of Cerulean City first.

The reward is a Soft Sand, an item that boosts Ground moves by 20%, which is not bad at all. Also you have access to another quest now.

Show Officer Jenny 2 different type of Gem's (Sub quest)

Gem's are items that strenghten specific Pokémon moves for once.
To obtain them you need to farm so called 'dig spots' - spots. Spots you can use the move Dig on and may obtain some items out of them. However, there is a downside: To use Dig outside of battle you need (as for Headbutt) at least 150 Happiness on the Pokémon with the move.

You can check the happiness of a Pokémon by typing the command "/happy 1-6" (1-6 = Slot number of the Pokémon) in the chat box on the bottom right.
A fresh caught Pokémon has a happiness vaule of 70 and usually gets 1 point for winning a fight and 5 for a level up => it can take some time to get to 150. If you want more detailed information about the happiness of Pokémon, check out the Happiness Guide.
There are a couple of Dig spots in Mt. Moon and at Route 3, if you are an attentive player you perhaps have seen some already.
They look like this:
PROClient_2023-09-26_00-29-24.png.da4bfe1365ee75b7f5f753203334332d.png

We also have a Dig Spots Wiki entry for more information.
The reward is a Big Pearl. You can sell this item to item sellers for 9000 Pokedollar.
In Kanto you can find a item seller at Route 25 (North of Cerulean) to the right of Bills house.

Catch a cute Clefairy

You need to show Jenny a Clefairy with the ability 'Cute Charm'.
You can see the ability of a Pokémon by clicking on it to open the info card and then looking at the top middle. You will find a 'Ability' section.

Clefairy can be found anywhere at Mt. Moon (The cave you went through to enter Cerulean City). It is a uncommon Pokémon.

Keep in mind that Clefable can have one of 3 different abilities! However, unlike the initial expectation, the chance to get a Clefable with Cute Charm is actually almost 50%.

The reward will be 6.000 Pokedollar. And another Jenny task appears that involves this Clefable.

2023-10-10_00-05-32.png.5aff1abdc367a1d1662daeae3fda92c4.png

Schoolgirl Laila

In Vermilion City (Your next stop in case you just beat the Cerulan Gym) in the libary (Big building on the east) is a schoolgirl you can give the Clefable to.
The reward is 4.000 Pokédollar.

Celadon City

Spoiler

Jenny is under the Dept Store, which is on the North-west side of the city.

Fight Michael

Michael is located at the very top of Route 17 (west of Celadon) and should be no issue to fight.
However, in order to enter Route 17 you need a Bike. Do you have one? 😏
Check out the Bike Voucher Wiki entry if you don't.
The reward is 10.000 Pokédollar.

Buy an HP UP

You just go to the Celadon Dept Store (Big building in the North-west of Celadon), enter it, walk up to the 5th floor and buy a HP-Up at the Vitamin seller. Just make sure you already have 8.000 Pokédollar to buy the item.
The reward is 14.000 Pokédollar.

Fuchsia City

Spoiler

Jenny is right infront of the Safari, which again is located in the north of the city.
You can do both quests in one Safari run!

Catch an Exeggcute in the Safari

Instructions clear. Enter the Safari and catch an Exeggcute. Jenny will gift you 7.000 Pokédollar so you can enter the Safari. As a kind player you will of course continue the quest and don't just leave with the money.
This quest can be easy combined with a story task: to find HM03 - Surf. Its locaed in Safari area 3, the same area where Exeggcute's can be found.
Once you entered the Safari, go to the top right in order to enter Area 1, the entrance to Area 2 is in the far North-West. Once you found Area 2, you just take the entrance on the south very close to you - you can catch Exeggcute's now. Surf is in the South of Area 3 in a Stop House.

The reward is another 7.000 Pokedollar.

Catch an Hidden Ability Nido

Every Pokémon has an Ability, some can have different Abilities, a very rare Ability is called 'Hidden Ability'. It has a chance of 5% to appear without help of any with coins buyable boost. If you want to know more about this topic check out: IV, EV, Nature's guide

'Nido' refers to any Pokémon that has 'Nido' in its name; Nidoran F/M, Nidorania, Nidorino - therefore you have a very high encounter rate.
The hidden ability of any 'Nido' is Hustle, you can catch all Nidos in the Safari Entrance area.

The reward is 10.000 Pokedollars and 10 Repeat Balls.

Cinnabar Island

Spoiler

Jenny is located on the North-West of the island.

Fight Articuno

Actually Jenny wants to see the Pokédex entry, that means it doesn't matter if you already fought Articuno or even if you lost.
Articuno is located in the Seafoam Islands.
Articuno is a bit hidden and not so easy to find, but I can hold your hand and show you the way:

Spoiler

Enter the Island Cave, in this case the left entrance was used.
