Mecha Island

Now, firstly I'd like to apologise for suggesting such a big idea, I know it might not be deemed as "feasible" but the way I envision it I feel it'd be worth the work. Hear me out for a little bit ^-^

 

Why this suggestion?

Given the "survey" ran on discord for implementing mecha pokemon in the future, I think this could be a great opportunity to add content that isn't time gated and can keep a healthy amount of players during "non-peak" times.

 

Mecha Island? 

By this, I mean an island similar to Pinkan. An off event area that could feature content such as quests, a dungeon, other pve things. As not only a place where content can be added without changing the "lore accurate" geography of the pokemon world. Maybe it's off the coast of johto, hoenn or sinnoh. Whilst not being "lore accurate" it at least doesn't impact the parts of the map that are. Anywho, having a place where people can hunt for forms - and a changeup to pink forms - whenever they please will always be a benefit. Sometimes I feel like a specific event isn't particularly calling out to my personal tastes and wants, I'm sure there's many that'd agree, but having more options outside of these time-sensitive forms would definitely keep me and other players online during those times. Pinkan Island was always the coolest concept to me, when I first played in 2020, it was the one goal I had. I wanted to get 250 hours just for that place, just for the chance at a pink pokemon whenever I wanted to try for it. Another place like that, with forms as cool as mechas sounds like a dream honestly. 

 

Wouldn't that mean a lot of Mechas? 

I know that on Pinkan Island, every pokemon has a pink counterpart, though that isn't my suggestion here. In the way that Aphrodia is set up, you have the chance at the rare pokemon and other pokemon with forms, whilst also having other encounters that are intriguing. The backyard chikorita, piplup in the general island area and bulbasaur on medusa's cloud for example. I think by having mecha pokemon exclusive to that island, but not having every pokemon exclusively have a mecha counterpart, you'd be able to please everyone. New encounter spots for some rares, maybe even new ones that are waiting to be added but haven't had the right place to be yet. Whilst also being able to introduce mecha pokemon, with a place for everyone to hunt them as their heart desires. 

 

The benefit it would bring to storytelling and introducing mecha mons

When I think of mecha pokemon, and how they could be introduced, I do find myself asking how it'd make sense, what steps would be taken to ensure it's not just a "oh btw here's some mecha pokes". I think an island or area would answer those questions, you can start a storyline, introduce new characters, start building foundations for future pieces of lore and future pieces of content. I feel like a lot can be done with it.

 

The setback?

Honestly I believe the setback to be the amount of work it'd take to pull it off, especially with other projects being worked on and stuff, I am aware that this is all very hard to pull off, which is why I write this to you humbly and not expecting much of it. To conclude, I'd like to finish by thanking you for reading through it if you do, as much as it is a pipe dream, since having this idea I wouldn't be able to sleep peacefully without sharing it with you on the what if that it becomes a thing.
