I was just wondering iof there is a specific quest i would need to complete before obtaining the exp share item 

Hello there! You can actually get the Exp. Share item simply by interacting with the Professor's Aide in 1 of 3 places:

 

  • Route 2 Stop House 3 (Kanto)
  • National Park Stop House 1 (Johto)
  • Mauville City Stop House 3 (Hoenn)
  • Route 214 Stop House (Sinnoh)

Please note that you can only receive 1 Exp. Share per account. For additional information on the Exp. Share and other available out-of-battle-effect items, you can visit this link located on the official PRO Wiki page: Out-of-battle held items.
