Alright. Before entering Vermillion, this pychic dude sends you to some scene where you have to battle Lance and his dragonair. He's supposed to be unbeatable at this point. Here's the thing. HE'S NOT UNBEATABLE! I ACTUALLY BEAT HIM WITH NORMALLY LEVELED POKéMON!

I was capable of doing this due to the AI that always has your opponent picking the hardest hitting move. In this case, hyper beam. Drawback of hyper beam is having to recharge. I took these opportunities to leech seed him, confuse him and put him to sleep and do some normal damaging moves. Plenty to let our dearest dragonair faint before even having to use my 6th pokémon.

But being supposedly unbeatable, Lance ignores the fact that his dragonair fainted and still orders it to hyper beam you back to kingdom come (present day reality actually).

So you may want to either update battle AI, change his dragonair's moveset, so that his recharging can no longer be exploited, or give Lance another pokémon. (Or, you know, add a scene that acknowledges you for beating him. I know. Pretty unlikely, given the mood it is trying to set, but it would be sweet to be rewarded for doing the supposedly impossible like i did =) )
