Can’t Battle Gary After Losing (Viridian Gym Bug)

Featured Replies

Hello PRO Staff,

I would like to report a problem I’m having:

  • I defeated the Pokémon League (Kanto Elite 4 + Champion).

  • After that, I went to Viridian Gym and fought Gary for the special post-League battle.

  • I lost the fight against Gary.

  • Now when I talk to Gary, he only says “What do you think of this Gym’s new design?” and he does not challenge me again.

  • I cannot battle him anymore, even after relogging and restarting the game.

It seems the game mistakenly thinks I already beat him, even though I didn’t.

Please help reset the Gary fight or fix my account so I can challenge him properly.
Thank you very much for your support!

Hello @Occen, thank you for reaching out to us.

You can re-challenge gym leaders every 3 days. Gary NPC gives you that text when it's on cooldown, try revisiting it 3 days after the last battle and you will be able to fight again!

I hope this information helps. I'm gonna lock this topic since the issue is resolved. For any future questions or doubts, you know where to come!
Kind regards, Thaloras.
