Kiruhoshino
I have an old account (2018). My starter Pokémon, Charmander, doesn't know the Ember attack. It used to learn this at level 6 or 7. Since then, it has become a starter attack. Now I wanted to play and I see that my Charmander will never learn one of its most important starter attacks because of this. I need help with this. I would like to learn how to attack in some way, because it's difficult to get by without a fire attack. Adiuvo
Hello @Kiruhoshino, Im sorry to see you'd encountered such an odd issue. I believe this is because we updated to Gen9 moves, which has Charmander learn the move ember earlier than previously. I have forward this thread to the developers to see if there's anything that can be done. Once I hear back from them, I'll make sure to let you know 1 Link to comment https://pokemonrevolution.net/forum/topic/266878-problem-with-my-starter-moves/#findComment-1645091 Share on other sites
Adiuvo
Hi @Kiruhoshino, After consulting with the developers, it was determined this was not something we could do. I know this is not what you want to hear, but allow me to offer some advice. While a fire move will certainly help when leveling against the bugs in Viridian, its not required. Scratch will still work, though not as well. At level 12, your Charmander will learn Dragon Breath, a decent move that will help you level up a bit more quickly. Then, at level 16, your Charmander will learn Dragon Rage. This is an excellent move, especially early in the game. It automatically does 40hp damage to your foe, which will be 1-hit-knock-outs against most Pokémon you'll encounter through Mt. Moon. Additionally, your Charmander will learn Fire Fang at level 17 (if you do not first evolve it into Charmeleon) Once you arrive in Cerulean City, there is a NPC titled "Move Relearner" near the bridge in the norther part of the city. For $2000, he will reteach your Pokemon previously known level moves, like Ember for your Charmander. Also, once you have defeated the gym leader Brock in Pewter City, you can talk to Officer Jenny near the gym. She offers several mini quests, one of which will involve using one of your Pokémon to headbutt a tree. The trees in Pallet Town have a small chance of dropping Charmander, along with the other Kanto starters. This is a way of obtaining another Charmander in the early part of your adventure. Alternatively, if you do not wish to proceed with your story without your Charmander knowing Ember, you can login to the Silver Server, as you have yet to play on that server. This will start at the beginning, and the Charmander you pick here will have the move Ember. As you haven't done much yet on your Gold character, perhaps you would rather start anew with your Silver character. I hope you find one of these options acceptable, and I do again apologize for being unable to help you with your original request. 1 Link to comment https://pokemonrevolution.net/forum/topic/266878-problem-with-my-starter-moves/#findComment-1645363 Share on other sites
