I sat for 2 movies in pinkan island meadow, and didnt see one tropius spawn in almost 4 hours. I think the spawn may be broken there.

yeah i dunno what was going on but it took 5+ hours to find a tropius. i honestly thought it was broken.

Sorry to hear about your struggles in hunting the elusive Tropius. 

 

As you found out, it does indeed spawn there as an uncommon spawn, but I guess RNG didn't want to play ball for you. Spawning alongside Chikorita, Electrike, Foongus, and Sewaddle might make it more difficult to encounter, it looks like a pretty stacked route. 

 

You can also find it at the Pinkan Island Woodlands East, though you'll miss out on the Chikorita spawn.
