I have a calm nature tentacool with 31 IVs in spdef and 8 in def. I'am training him to be a wall for my team. Was thinking of having EVs maxed out into HP and spdef. Have already started with HP but was wondering if its the right move to put the other half of my EVs into spdef? Or should I rather have 252 put into physical def? Which build would work better?

 

Also, where do you possibly spdef train in kanto? I know that fighting tentacool/tentacruel is usually the fastest way but while training a tentacool its just a lot slower...

Still confused here, so after putting 252 EVs into HP do I put the other 252 in def or spdef? I know it depends on the role that I want it to play but generally which works better in this case?
