Quick question, why does he have a special rank

May he is learning something and in future he may become a full staff member, just a wild guess of mine.

To answer your questions, he APPlied to be a staff member, and passed some of our tests, therefore he is neither an ordinary player, nor a staff member(and he will have the APP tag in game).
