I was just fighting someone in ranked pvp, and I noticed that drought wasn't visually shown with the drought icon when my opponent switched in his/her drought ninetales. The ninetales used a 1-turn solarbeam, so I knew it was a drought ninetales, but the icon didn't show up when it switched in.

I believe it is a bug, when a pokemon with an ability that causes weather effects (sandstream, drought ect)is switched in, the icon does not appear, but the ability is still in play, so just be aware, and count the turns :Grin:

No, I use a sandstorm team, and the sand icon reappears every time I switch in tyranitar after it has worn out for 5 turns. For the drought, the icon didn't reappear.
