Nicknames

Featured Replies

People would use inappropriate names without a doubt. Even if it's just one person.. it'll ruin it for everyone.

@Tetsuzan I do believe that if nicknames where implemented it would not last long due to the fact that this is a mmo. there are indeed, "as you noted" people that are inappropriate. People tend to bypass the swear filter as well. As a mmo setting I personally believe that nicknames should not be implemented. Mind you I would love to name my pokemon, would be amazing. Unless they come with a fool proof way of making it pg13 for the young players, I see no future for nicknames.

The reason that there seems be no topics on this is because we have already said that we wont be adding nicknames.

I'd rather be potentially exposed to something distasteful or uncomfortable than sacrifice an integral part of Pokemon for awful reasoning. And yes, it's integral to the experience.

Without nicknames, there is NO way to personalize your Pokemon. None.

Good luck refuting that. Filters already exist in the game (if they're enough for chat, they're enough for Pokemon). Not implementing nicknames because it's easier for you is like removing the entire chat because some people evade the filter.
