Guest lampshadejaz
Trading Market Place UI/UX to replace trade chat spam <r>I'm proposing a <B><s></s>Trading Market Place UI/UX <e></e></B>to replace the chat spam that occurs in the trade chat channel. It's basically an in game market place for buying/selling pokemon/items. Right now, everything is done through manual labor. You have to type in the trade chat channel and somehow not get lost in the spam. You have to constantly follow the trade chat and filter through EVERY SINGLE LISTING until you find what you want. And everytime someone types the box scrolls up and you have to keep scrolling while trying to read. A simple UI on top of a listing system with filters would help tremendously. <br/> <br/> <B><s></s>Is my suggestion viable?<e></e></B> <br/> A simple implementation, Yes! A slightly more complex but not overly complex implementation, Yes! A super complex implementation, No! <br/> <br/> <B><s></s>How important is my idea? <e></e></B><br/> In no way is this idea mandatory. But it would increase the quality of life of the PRO player base. The process of buying and selling pokemon and items is very tedious and manual. Making that process easier in any way will help almost every single player who plays this game. And that has serious value. <br/> <br/> <B><s></s>How would my idea affect to community?<e></e></B> <br/> It would improve their gaming experience by getting them to exactly what they want quicker and reduce the time they spend reading chat spam trying to find what they want to buy/sell. <br/> <br/> <B><s></s>Is my suggestion likely in the planning anyway?<e></e></B> <br/> I read through and didn't see anything like it. But I can't imagine i'm the first person to propose something like this. <br/> <br/> <B><s></s>Limitations based on the current game rules and mechanics:<e></e></B><br/> Right now you can only trade when two parties meet at the same exact pokecenter. If we were to remove this limitation then the overall design of this feature would look very different. But for now, let's assume that this requirement will hold true going forward forever. This Market Place will not replace the process of contacting the person and negotiating a price and actually going to the same pokecenter and initiating the trade. This Market Place will enable you to easily find buyers or sellers to suit your needs. <br/> <br/> <B><s></s>Proposed work-flow 1.) <e></e></B>Seller makes a listing. Open a trade UI. Click on Sell. Create New Listing. Drag the pokemon they wish to sell into a listing and submit it. They also have optional fields which they can populate such as a suggested sale price. The location at which the listing was originally posted should be included as well. <br/> <br/> <B><s></s>Proposed work-flow 2.) <e></e></B>From the buyer's perspective. Open a trade UI. Click on Sell. Browse listings by scrolling. You see a listing that you like so you right-click on it and message the person saying "Hey I wtb...". Regardless of where you are, you can see all listings. BUT you can also apply filters. For example, I may want to filter out Johto all together because I cannot travel there. I may only have 20K to spend, so I'll filter by prices 30K and lower. That way when a Gyarados who's PVP ready comes up for 200K i'm not wasing my time scrolling past him. I'm only looking at ones I can afford. It would also nice to filter by a specific pokemon, or pokemon with a specific nature if that's not too difficult to implement. Often times I see people spamming "wtb Modest Eevee" for an hours on end. Once you see a listing you like, you simply right click on the username and message them and you're off to the negotiation races! I'm sure we could take this even further with automating trades but I have a feeling that complicated of a feautre wouldn't get considered so let's keep the proposal simple. <br/> <br/> <B><s></s>Proposed work-flow 3.) <e></e></B>Buyer makes a listing. Open a trade UI. Click on Buy. Create New Listing. Type in a pokemon name you wish you buy and submit it. Now everyone can see your listing. Sellers can check the Buy listings and contact people who are searching for pokemon of that type. It would be nice to base listings on stats as well, but even doing it based on pokemon name would be a great start. <br/> <br/> <B><s></s>Proposed work-flow $.) <e></e></B>From the seller's perspective. Open a trade UI. Click on Buy. Browse listings by scrolling. You see someone saying that they want to buy a "Charmander". You right-click and message the person saying "Hey I have a Charmander!". <br/> <br/> Listing expirations could be very short and are immediately expired if you log off. An example of a listing duration could be 15 minutes or 1 hour. Or maybe your listing doesn't expire until you log off BUT you only get 2-5 listings and cannot make infinite listings.</r>
Tolley
Re: Trading Market Place UI/UX to replace trade chat spam <t>I agree with this idea, a banking system & a way to list pokes to be purchased off of a market would be sweet, but if it's not possible to do without a butt load of coding, then it's fine how it is. :)</t> " A Man's Dream Will Never Die. Jimany
Re: Trading Market Place UI/UX to replace trade chat spam <t>This seems like a very practical way of organizing trades. The only problem might be the trade list getting really long, but it beats scrolling through many people spamming the trade chat. +1 from me.</t>

It would be much better than scrolling through spams and re-posts. Filters would solve the long list. Just filter by Kanto, then your max price you can afford, that would eliminate A LOT and leave with with exactly what you want even if you are open to buying all types of pokemon. Or you could just filter by "Growlithe" or something.</r>

Just basically replace (or improve upon) that trade channel spam...</r>
Pixiu
240758 -snip- Hi there, I've merged your topic with the proper thread. :) In the future, please try to read through this stickied post before making a new suggestion thread. A new auction house / marketplace is already on our to-do list as something that's to be implemented down the road. However, we're always happy to read well-constructed feedback and input from users on what they would like to see, so feel free to keep pitching away ideas for the marketplace in this thread. Martindaniel98
209606 ANYTHING would be better than the current system for buying/selling/trading Pokemon. I'm sick of traveling from region to region only for people to log out or change their mind at the last second. yep there goes 10k travelling cost for nothing
