Hey guys, I was trying to solo hoenn with only my starter but then I ran into jackson's rayquaza and he outspeeds me and just one shots my level 85 swampert with energy ball. Do you guys know any high level pokemon that I can catch or have any tips for me to kill the rayquaza?

224432 Hey guys, I was trying to solo hoenn with only my starter but then I ran into jackson's rayquaza and he outspeeds me and just one shots my level 85 swampert with energy ball. Do you guys know any high level pokemon that I can catch or have any tips for me to kill the rayquaza?

Here are some tips you can try:

 

1. Pick up a low-leveled Pokemon with Sturdy (Geodude from Route 111 Desert works well for this) and teach it Toxic. Use Toxic first turn, then keep healing the Geodude back up with Fresh Waters as you're waiting for the Toxic to take its toll on the Rayquaza.

 

2. Grab something that can slow the Rayquaza down so that your Swampert can move first, before it's hit with Energy Ball. Again, you can use a Geodude with Sturdy, as it should learn Bulldoze by level up, which is a move that will lower the opponent's speed by one stage. Or you can train up a Pokemon that learns Thunder Wave / Stun Spore / etc.
