I've just started playing this game today and I saw the 'Coins' you can buy mounts with. I'm wondering if they're available to get in game or do you have to buy them if you want a mount?

You can buy them for $5 = 100c or go to trade channel and buy coins or mount/coins item for a range of pokedollars.

Only Arcanine is obtainable through general playing of the game. the rest are donation only

 

Mounts serve the exact purpose the bike does
