Compound Eyes + Covet.

Hi! I read the Compound Eyes ability works. So i caught Venonat with this ability, then i add to my team Ursaring with Covet move. I was about 1 hour in Digletts Cave and nothing. I wanted to find Soft Sand, I killed all Digletts, Dugtrios and Sandslashes and still nothing. I have no soft sand item.

So there is my questions:

1) How many % wild pokemon have to hold item like soft sand with and without CompoundEyes ability?

2) Can i enter fight with Venonat and then change to Ursaring and kill poke using Covet?

1/ Compound eye ability not work outside as avoiding players abuse it in MMO environment. Check here Things that are not to be introduced in PRO
