lock-on bug

The yellow server just completely crashed, I'm not sure if this is bugging because of that, but I get back in and when I use lock on, the next attack is supposed to be a guaranteed hit. I use zap cannon after and I missed. I did this 5 times in a row and missed every time. instead of ensuring a hit it's more like ensuring a miss. explain please.
