Use Ferrothorn > Foretress as it has better mixed defensives stats and dual-type which enables it to check water threats.

Bulky Scizor is also an option with swords dance/roost to give you a win condition while taking some hits.

Excadrill is a must with sand rush to apply offensive pressure, even on stall teams.

Amoongus is a hard check against Azumarill and rain team sweepers (Politoed + Kingdra + Kabutops) which are majors threats to sand teams.

And last, you will need something that can break through opposing sand teams because none of your pokemon is able to defeat bulky ennemies such as opposing Hippo, Gliscor or Skarmory. Maybe you can use bulky Gyara with Taunt/Dragon dance/Waterfall/filler of your choice which can beat them all.

246952 woo nice really nice ty Bro .. and other alternates pokes? for more mix and variety :D

By using a sand team, you put some restrictions on teambuilding. It's hard to find variety since each pokemon has a role to fulfill but the backbone of a good sand team will often be :

- A sand streamer (Hippo or Tyranitar)

- A sand rush sweeper (Excadrill)

- One or two water/grass/rain team checks (Bulky Scizor, Amoongus, Venusaur, Tangrowth, Ferrothorn)

- One or two bulky ground checks since Excadrill cannot defeat them (Azumarill, calm mind Slowbro, bulky Gyarados, swords dance Breloom)

- Some fillers of your choice

Not really, it depends on your playstyle. Sand teams are always powerful but it suffers from the lack of many pokemon on PRO (M-Charizard Y, Keldeo, Tornadus, Latios, etc...). Without sand, you can build a stall team around a Blissey/Skarmory/Slowbro core or a fire-grass-water (FGW) core with bulky Wow and Morning sun Arcanine teamed up with dual-regenerator Amoongus/Slowbro for example. There are many options, you just have to find yours.
