My Gengar was considerably higher and it didn't get stopped until his, I think it was Espeon? Last poke anyway. Beat that pretty easily with another. 37863 Great to know man. It would be more safe to use a full team instead of just 1 pokemon however. The optimal number of pokes for the story mode seems to be 2, to be honest. You get too little xp and have to grind a lot with more, and with 1 you run the risk of getting walled by something.
