266730 Because it would make the game feel disjointed. If I want to completely restart every region I would just play the official games. And theres the fact that having items and money in your bag and locked would ruin the fun. Heres an example, imagine you just finished kanto, you enter johto, all you stuff is locked, first step in the first route there, shiny appears,no pokeballs, all because you locked you items before you entering johto. Also why change a long standing feature just so it more like the official games. The dev has stated that this game will be different then the official games. Its not need at all and all it will do is sour the fun of the game.

 

What about after you can buy/get the items, it would unlock. Ex. You can buy Pokéballs, potions from the start, so the Pokéballs and potions would be unlocked.

266761 Heres some things i would also like to add to the discussion. How would Hms work, would they be locked also, would you have to collect them again in the new regions, resulting in duplicates at once you unlock your items back? What would happen if you went through the trouble of getting a bike or the free mount, would they be locked. Would you have quest in each region for them? What if you bought ms b4 going to a new region, would that be lock because you didnt pop it before hand? What about stuff like the pickaxe/ cutting axe, would they be locked?

 

The mounts wouldn't be locked, but the bike until the bike shop would. The HMs would be locked until you could use them

i dont like this idea, very bad idea
