Fish
Hello Players and GM's, i noticed that each EV lowering Berry has a very low Value for EV resetting and want to creat an open discussion on this topic. As we all know EV training is taking a major role in PvP Battles and elsewhere but should it also play such a gigantic role as a high expenditure of playtime in our MMO ? [glow=red]A personal example for this[/glow] : I got a very nice starter pokemon and i want to use it in PVP battles. As i leveled him up for the E4 i could not keep track of the EV stats. Now as i have 6 pokemon near lvl 100 - witch i dearly love because they fought good fights with me - and i know there strenghs and weaknesses, i noticed the EV resetting Value of 10 points. As i found out, i actually want to quit the game just because im a PVP player. That means i would need more then a month to gather all these berrys.. THAT, lads and gents IS INSANE. .... in my point of view :Nervous: Please tell me and the community your thoughts on this topic. :thanks:
Thor
https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Effort_values Please refer to this, and: so why would we change something that is correct just to satisfy your own PVP needs? Fish
hey Arnie, thanks for your answer. well as i see this subject it could bug more people then just me, so i thought we could make a discussion out of this. isnt this the official forum? i actually never wrote something in such a forum before so please apologize if this wasn't the right way. Can y I just wanted to show my point of view, that these EV berrys should have a proper value... if i need 20 berrys for resetting 200 points on attack EVs of my venomoths, i would be faster if i search a week for a better one and then train it another week up to level 100... is this really the right way to do so from your point of view? i suggest not because i like my pokemon who pulled me through Kanto and Johto. Btw great game so far i had a lot of fun getting through the story. i sometimes really laught about these implemented jokes and sidequests  keep up that good work. Arroar
40467 While that was a harsh reply from Arnie (coz this is a forum after all, why not just discuss things?) I do agree that it should remain the same because these berries are what we call valuable commodities. People will gather them on a weekly basis. Some will use them, some will not. I have over 40+ of certain ev reducing berries and I never had the need to use them to fully reset a Pokemon to base value. The trick is proper training. The game already pampers us by showing us EV and IV, allowing us to choose which pokemon to keep, and which pokemon to just train for story mode. The only exception is your starter, which can easily be cured with 20+ of certain berries as you said. When you catch a wild pokemon that has godly IVs and screw it up by deliberately fighting random pokemon with it, then you do deserve to spend that extra $$$ buying off those berries from other players who are more careful or patient with who they train. If you find a godly Growlithe for example, keep it in your PC and hunt for another Growlithe to use for story mode. I personally kept about 5 pokemon to train and rushed my way to obtain the macho brace before actually training those pokemon. It's all a matter of smart management. Adding to this, 10 points a "pop" is fantastic, Even more so if you compare to the other money and time sync's within the game. The berry's are a great, free deal, again, more so if you considerer the cost of EV enhancing items at the shops in game. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCjxqJIoy64bxNz899Uk9w3w
Fish
Well that is the opinion i did feared the most - please let me explain why - Because this is exactly what i ment with a high expenditure of playtime. Fact is, we all want several and ofc different good IV pokemons - especially for lategame PVP - but we dont have the time to play all day, every day. 1. It's true that you should keep track of your EV's but after training 6 Pokemon to lvl 100 through Storyline, i won't catch&train 6 different Pokemons of the same kind to level 100 (for me its smart management if you search a good pokemon and train it so you dont use so much time on leveling up - and this should not be punished). 2. Of course there are only approximately 6-12 pokemon you used in storyline and brought up to lvl 100 and in consideration of how long you will play this game eventually these 12 pokemon are not much. (but exactly why then making these 12 pokemon sooo much more timespending to prepare for PVP ? - and that is why i stopped playing - because all players who searched for good pokemon in the beginning getting punished for their effort we made earlier in the game) :Exclam: We need double the time - just trough this 10 Points of Berry system. :Exclam:
Eldra
When you have two definite objectives, and you exploit one fully understanding its detriment to the other and now incur a cost for doing so, that doesn't quite sound like "smart management". Not everything can be served on a silver platter my friend, and you should be glad that there's at least an option to fix your mistakes.
Fish
you are savage man but let me try  so in your oppinion im exploiting (useing) the detriment (disadvantag) now to legelize my question for a higher Value of these berrys.. well im not asking for a silver platter, im just concerned about this Playstyle the game proposes. If you have to run through storyline without having good pokemon witch you can't use later on (PVP is what Pokemon is all about, as a computer MMO game..) this is not the idea that build Rome if you know what i mean my friend. In my opinion it should be easier to use your Storyline Pokemon in PVP - thats what my goal is. We dont have the time to search ANOTHER time for good pokemon and raise them up ANOTHER time... :Exclam: If i knew how hard resetting EV's is, i would have played the suggested way... :Exclam: so all i want to discuss here if we can maybe make the berrys resett 50 Points or what ever. Please tell me if im wrong on this one (Its not like my pokemon are perfekt now but if i want to use a Umbreon in PVP battle i please want to use my own lvl 100 and not buy another one for 100k or search them - dont know if it is even possible)
Kombo
10 is perfect imo. Sure, it might take some time at first, but it dosen't take that long to get the required berries. You can get all of the berries inside the cave in Viridian Forest, and then we have the daily. If you get too much of one kind, I am sure someone could trade you for those berries. They do stack up fairly well regardless. Just have some patience, you can do other things in the meanwhile.
Keyahri
idk about you,but isn't this Pokemon? which is suppose to be relatively base on pokemon? Except keep in mind this is an MMO.When did other MMO become so easy? It is meant to be time consuming, thus why a fully max ev +good nature/iv pokemon can net u over 200-500k in game. The satisfaction of being able to do all that in game is more rewarding to me imo.Now I understand your frustration, but if your concern is the lack of berries, that's what you should be bringing up,not the value it gives especially when the vaule is the correct value in all official pokemon game.I mean you can complain to the Pokemon Company to change it for the next generation of pokemon games and Maybe we can update the vaule.Just keep in mind this is an MMO,not like the the handheld where you beat the game in 2-3 days(1 day for me) and then becomes bored of it.Especially now with ppl already asking for new contents instead of just enjoying the damn game.Server stability+bug fixes are a priority imo before adding new contents into the puzzle.same reason why i rather have the team take their time with animation on pokemon abilities, its not needed, ppl just wants it cuz they think a game is this easy to code. That's my 2 cent on this matter.
