is steelix actually extremely rare in valley of steel western peak like the rarity guides say it is? I am asking this cus i found a shiny steelix there and I kinda pondering on the fact that it has the rarity of shiny klekei haha.

In Read this before making a suggestion is stated the following:

Encounter rate

 

We will not give any percentage of encounter rate of pokemon. Players will need to find by themselves.

 

If you're mentioning the Spawn and Rarity system thread, it is not 100% accurate; it says for example that Nincada is "common" and Skitty "extremely rare", which is actually the other way around (as it doesn't take the excavations in consideration, otherwise Houndour wouldn't be noted as "rare"), and if you mention Nightjay's Rarity Guide, Steelix is only noted as "scarce" there -actually the same than Red's-. ^-^

 

But if you farmed long enough to get a Shiny Steelix (congrats, btw), aren't you in a good position to tell yourself whether Steelix is as rare as Klefki or not?
