Hey guys,

 

So at the moment I think PvP trainer battles aren't rewarding enough. They basically give you nothing but a good feeling when you win. So I think there should be some small rewards for fighting and beating trainers. And maybe add a timer to battling the same person so players cannot farm the rewards with friends/other players.

 

Some ideas for rewards are:

1: small amounts of xp. When you are out of NPCs to battle and you just can't beat the gym, farming weak and wild pokemon is just not fun. Maybe add at least small xp rewards so you can "practice battling" kind of like trainers do in the TV show. In this case, I suggest keeping the xp low but not adding a timer, as this is more of an alternative to farming wild pokemon than an actual reward.

 

2: money rewards. Same as xp rewards only a timer should be added if this is implemented.

 

3: item rewards. Give the player useless collectables which can be sold for low prices or collected to look cool. Again though, timer needed to avoid farming this.

 

4: Tokens. Give the player tokens. With these tokens the player can buy exclusive items (tm's, special pokeballs (eg. Loveballs), hold items, etc.). I think this is the best idea because you can make the amount of tokens differ with the amount of times you have played against that person (to avoid the same two people battling each other whenever they can). Also, you can go even further and create a whole ranked system (kind of like the one in clash of clans) where battling people with a higher rank than you gives you more tokens.

PvP will have a proper ranking system, where the more wins to.losses u have, the higher rated u will be. This will ome into play more in tornaments where essentially u will be better seeded.

 

As for giving any item/money/xp, that will be a flat out no. Simply because people will exploit it.

All right, sounds fun enough. Though, in your ranked system, what would be the reason players will want to PvP early on in the game, and are there any rewards except for if you win tournaments?

Also, I don't know why you won't consider adding a timer to battling a certain player (against reward exploiting). To me it sounds fair enough that you for example could earn like a small amount of money from the same person every day, as long as you two still are within the 20lvl pokemon difference limit. The small amount of money would be maybe only $400 or even less and would only really be a small motivation to start battling, as currently there isn't any.

Currently there aren't any but as arnie said there will be PvP rewards soon enough, the issue with the timer is that often people want a rematch immediately after losing a battle, also by watching the PvP ranks staff will be able to identity exploiters easily enough
