Hakunon
Here I am again, asking the devs if they could use the same system they use for bosses with the normal NPCs, as in, make them have their normal cooldowns, and trigger their battles again after the player speaks to them, you can even add a new dialog to the npc asking if they could rebattle the players. The thing is, I'm a player that has over 1400 hours playtime, I have done practically everything in the game except the ones that I don't think are much worth atm (ex: doctor quest and pinkam although I have them available) and pretty fast even though i'm not a hardcore player, and this is because each week it passes my head just hurts even more playing this game because of the worry it puts over that I'll have to do rematches again and again before I proceed with actual compensating stuff. I know NPCs play the role of being a challenge to overcome before you clear the main and extra stuff, sure, but after that, their purpose just become 'waste about 5x more time for things you have to do daily so everyweek you mess up your game routine if you don't spend the entire day clearing the npcs again. Nowadays we have even more bosses that are far away from towns that has already defeated and purposeless npcs in the way. Headbutts, Digs spots, EV spots, hunting spots and such are overwhelmed by NPCs that will make you lose your entire afternoons every week (route 13-15 hb and digs, excavation sites have an army just wating for you each time you want to farm those after each week). "NPCs are important for leveling-" Yeah sure if you are passing through the region first time, after that there are places that are even easier to level + ev at the same time, and you don't need to migrate until you kill everyone and waste even more time getting back for an actual training spot and most of them are low-leveled unevolved mons that a tentacool/diglett will give you more than double of what they give in exp; "NPCs are important for money" No they're not, you can make more money if you do things in less time, as if, a player that is already hunting/training/doing daily stuff like dig is making money faster and better than the one battling an NPC, and even then most of them gives less money than a lv 5 rat because of RNG; "You can use the teleport NPC pokemons in route to skip over them" Again, this is the most useless mechanic in the game together with the NPC rematches, as we already has the subway system we can use to skip over routes (because they aren't long anyways, even the Hoenn ocean ones you can clear in 20 seconds if you don't have any NPC on your tail. Also if you are in that route it means you want to use it for something (headbutts, dig, excavation, doctoc, etc.) and it makes you waste money, a move slot you could use for more important stuff and a party slot for one Poke that can learn Teleport. "You can skip them by relogging when they are speaking before battle" Are you saying that this is a valid mechanic for a game? Also you still waste some time for being stopped and relogging and some of them will not reset meaning you'll have to do this everytime you walk by them. Plus you risk yourself of getting hit by a rare bug that got me recently (I had my sync team, went to the pokecenter, swapped my Sync team for a team that I was going to use it for the entei guardian, tried skipping some NPCs, it went ok for the first two, but the third one made my team go back to the PC and swapped for my Sync team again and I lost the Life Orb I equipped to my Gengar, as if it were not "saved properly" even if I had that Life Orb since they were released); Please, even if it take some time (maybe not much as you could use the same code used for bosses or something similar?) this is the one and only thing I would love to see implemented in the game because it's the ONLY thing that is making me play even less until I give up entirely, and I would hate to do that because even if the game has many flaws I still think everything in the game was amazingly well done for it to work as an mmorpg (but I still got triggered by the TMs not being actual TMs so I could stock them and not give a damn about revisiting the shops... But that is for another time). Also I really hope Sinnoh is being made with this in mind, so you guys don't worry about changing it later... Frux
Your so called "useless mechanic" teleporting pokes. iirc they were added as alternative measure because its almost impossible to implement the optional rebattle at the moment , I presume theyre still brainstorming on how to pull it off. Our present sufferings are not worth comparing to the glory that will be revealed in us. -Romans 8:

They're still useless and waste of money, you can clear almost every route under 5 seconds if there aren't rematches there, and the time it takes for you to use the teleport even if it's simple will not save you any second either, also as I said there are already subways as a more effective method for skipping as even with npcs most important stuff are in the middle of the route either so you'll have to walk by them. Also they did it with bosses, which are NPCs as well, the only thing I see preventing them is the number of NPCs there are atm, so switching one by one may sure take a while but it's necessary. I see players everyday complaining "Crap I must do NPCs" and it's when they need the time. Someday this will get to your head too and you find yourself exhausted from that too... Purplemauth
Consider things from a developers perspective - Your games wellbeing is maintained by having players active, and online. If you could "run through every route in 5 seconds" (which you can't) it would mean you have people who come in for a couple seconds, do what they want and leave. There are numerous measures in place to avoid a majority of the rebattles. You saying "subway/teleport is the most useless mechanic" is totally unjust and quite frankly, not true. The means to skip a majority of the battles exist, it's just not catered to your every single need. You complain about it being a waste of money, but then also complain about not battling NPCs, which give money. If only there was some solution. Also consider how dead the world would feel. You beat every trainer once and then you never have to rebattle them means no one would ever interact with you. The point of PRO, as it is an MMO, is to have an immersive, continuous world. Beating an NPC then never having to talk to them again detracts from this. As a player with almost 1000 hours, the only NPCs I consistently have to battle are the two above vermillion. I cannot think any other NPCs I constantly am fighting, and I as well am doing all the end game things that you are. I understand why some people think that removing the rebattles would be good, but given how many times it's been brought up to staff, and they've had the same response, I think it's time to give it a rest. Theyre only useless if npcs are on cd. Anything that function are not useless after all. And yea i hope "someday this will get into my head and find myself exhausted from it too" coz Im a grinder, I roam entire overworld everyday, hitting 2k hrs, and almost 2yrs facin rebattles. We should sometimes atleast understand why they can't implement it, maybe not now. Our present sufferings are not worth comparing to the glory that will be revealed in us. -Romans 8:
Hakunon
-snip Of course someone has to play the "this is an MMO" card... You are distorting pretty much everything i've said: First of all, I've said that ONLY the route teleporter are useless as yes you CAN pretty much clear any route in 5 seconds, and by that i meant in a figurative sense, as long as there aren't any obstacles, such as the NPCs, thus making it a waste of money. Second, if you at least tried to interpret what I've said, I meant that NPCs don't give much money for the time you spent on them when you count your profits, as by the end of the day you could have accomplished more hunting, digging and training which you would have earned much more money than fighting an npc that has a chance of giving less than a lv 5 pokemon as I've said in my post. Third, If you want to skip routes, then going from city to city using the subway is better. Also if you are really doing endgame stuff it means you HAVE to clear countless NPCs, as a lot of them will keep you from doing the various digs placed around caves and routes, the various headbutts around the regions and islands, excavation sites all around Hoenn. Don't make me even get started in hunting and training EVs, depending on where you are. And last, what the heck are you talking about breaking immersion? Actually they rematching you FORCEFULLY is what breaks immersion, because they treat you like you didn't beat them in the first place. That's why everyone wants them OPTIONAL, like, adding some dialog as: "Hey, can we fight again? I want to test things out now that I've trained better" And making so they had like lv 50 pokes, and even throw extra stuff after they fix the rest of NPCs that would improve the immersion on the game like rematching Gym Leaders with lv100 team for a better reward in money, so at least they woudn't feel discarded like you said, and won't overload the game with bosses. And for the last time, I'm asking them to be made OPTIONAL, NOT REMOVING THEM ENTIRELY, LIKE IN THE ORIGINAL GAMES, where they are more "lively" than any MMO, there are even long events like in Black/White 2 where a famous NPC becomes your friend and keeps calling you anonymously time from time (they don't want you to know they are some famous person) thus giving a romantic feel to it, can't get more "lively" than that. Hakunon
I just really wanted to make the Staff see that this is a pretty important matter that the game needs to be more fun and friendly to all players alike, even more for those who can't put much time a day to the game and they should focus more on this before adding side stuff since we're full of that right now, and astronomically more with forced npcs.
