Hey guys, Im a new to PRO. I Just beat kanto and now I am on Johto and i was wondering how do you come by "shiney" pokemon. I see people selling but wondering if it is just a chance in the wild?

Also, is their a guide explaining what HA, and epic are and the differces in like adament and timid and other types? Ive seen people say these things in trade but I dont fully understand the differences and how you know when you have something good.

Shiny pokemon are totally random. Certain Bosses and other game specific events give pokemon that have a higher chance, but the rate for 99% of things in pro is 1/8192 for a shiny.

H.A = hidden ability. Most pokemon have Hidden abilities, and in some cases it is very important for that pokemon to have it's hidden ability, and thus increases the value for when it is being sold. pokemon you encounter in the wild have a 5% of having it's hidden ability.

Epic is a loosely used term. For most, it means the pokemon has the correct ability, nature, and IVs that are in the high 20s. The term gets tossed around fairly often and the standard for "epic" has dropped.

As far as understanding when you have something good, you can ask all chat/battle chat for their opinions on pokemon. Knowing what makes a pokemon "good" is basically only gathered through experience playing the game and understanding a pokemons purpose. For example, Talonflame is one of the strongest pokemon in PVP. However, without it's Hidden Ability Gale wings, It is largely useless. Also, If it has a Modest nature instead of an Adamant or Careful nature, It is also not as good. The only way to know is to play and learn.

So where do you find a list of "hidden abilities"
