Nature: Timid

Item: Life Orb

Ability: Volt Absorb

Efforts: 252SPA 4SPDEF 252SPE (Needs 31 Speed)

Moveset:

Thunderbolt

Volt Switch

Hidden Power Ice (Even IVS: ATK & DEF, Odd IVS: Everything Else)

Signal Beam/Shadow Ball/Fake Tears

Jolteon is one of the fastest pokes in OU un-scarfed tied with Aero and Crobat, a

max speed of 394, You dont want to die to Aero without making a speed tie fight

which is why its essential to have 394 speed (max speed).

outspeeds Gengar(350)/Starmie(361)/Zam(372)/Weavile(383) which are some of the popular pokes in PRO PVP. While it does outspeed talonflame, if your Jolteon is low you do not want to stay in because it can brave bird, same with X-Speed Dnites.

Thunderbolt is your STAB move, Volt Switch just to deal good damage while you switch, HP Ice while being difficult to get with Max speed IVs, it is a must have on Jolteon! it counters ground giving it good coverage since ground is immune to electric, not only that Ice is just a great type to have against x4 weak pokes in the Meta, Gliscor,Dnite,Garchomps. Signal Beam is a great move against TTARs, it does abit more than Tbolt to pure psychic types, it is also x4 to Celebi. Shadow Ball is for Gengar, Jellicent use to be pretty popular but you would use Tbolt against it anyway which is why SBall is the 2nd option, Fake Tears can also provide good use, you're most likely not going to one shot a TTar in sand since TTar gets x1.5 SPDEF because its a rock type in sand or a Dnite with Multiscale, but if you can predict the switch in with Fake Tears it lowers their SPDEF by 2 stages and then you can finish with Signal or HP Ice. Life Orb is the correct item on Jolteon althought specs is also an option.

You want the freedom to switch to Volt Switch when you need it, not only that

Jolt is a glass cannon anyway so the 10% HP loss from orb isn't a big deal. The Strategy behind Jolteon is to outspeed and revenge kill/deal damage when you can, being so fraile not being able to take a single ground type attack means you can couple Jolteon with pokes like Gyarados Switch back and forth to utilize the Volt Absorb and Ground Immunity so you can have more life orb uses. Long story short you dont want to stay in a try stall out something like a blissey.
