what you are experiencing is the 5% money loss after a lose versus a NPC, there is nothing wrong with it. You came unprepared to a battle and paid the price for it :P

I suggest next time you are "almost" loosing, you simply reconnect, you end im in the last visited pokecenter but you don't lose money or anything. Good lucl
