Rastaspt
Found a guide for every Gym and E4 in the other regions, and Hoen was missing. Just made this up on the go, hope it helps! Rustboro City Gym - Rock Type Reward: Rock Tomb - $3,000 Geodude Type: | Weak to: | | | Nosepass Type: Weak to: | | | | Tip: This gym is really easy for people that choose Mudkip or Treecko, whoever if you went with Torchic and/or you're encountering trouble, I recommend catching Lotad in Route 102, just before Petalburg City. Both Lotad and Mudkip can learn HM03-Surf for an easy win at this gym. Dewford Town Gym - Fighting Type Reward: Bulk Up - $2,500 Makuhita Type: Weak to: | | Machop Type: Weak to: | | Heracross Type: | Weak to: | | | Tip: Flying type is really great versus Brawly if you think your flying-type can 1hit, otherwise, all of Brawly's pokemon have a Rock-type attack that will wreck you. Best bet for a quick gym experience is to get a Ralts or a Marill on Route 104, or an Abra and level it up to Kadabra, you can find them in Granite Cave(while you're in the cave, catch a Makuhita, it will be really handy later, make sure to level it). GO BACK TO RUSTBORO!!! Or waste money in boat trips! Mauville City Gym - Electric Type Reward: Thunderbolt - $3,000 Magnemite Type: | Weak to: | | Voltorb Type: Weak to: Magneton Type: | Weak to: | | Manectric Type: Weak to: Tip: If you choosed Mudkip as your starter, evolve him to Marshtomp and spam wtv Ground move you have. If not, grab a Geodude or literally anything with Ground on its type for an easy win. Remember to get Rock Smash for $5,000 from a Nerd in one of the houses. Lavaridge Town Gym - Fire Type Reward: Overheat - $7,000 Slugma Type: Weak to: | | Numel Type: | Weak to: | Torkoal Type: Weak to: | | Chandelure Type: | Weak to: | | | | Tip: Remember Lotad or Maril ? They do wonders here if you have been leveling any of them but basically any water pokemon will carry you really easy. Surf Surf Surf! Petalburg City Gym - Normal Type Reward: Facade - $3,500 Slaking Type: Weak to: Vigoroth Type: Weak to: Slaking Type: Weak to: Tip: You can count on a disgusting 1 hit trickshot with Giga Impact!!! Get your Makuhita to level 40 to learn Close Combat, evolve him, level a bit more, the first Slaking will start up with Aerial Ace if you have Haryama on front, make sure you have spare revives and rotate them on Haryama. Play around the fact that they goof around for 1 turn after atacking and eventually you'll get over him. Another way to get trough the Slaking's is by having a pokemon with Protect for the turns they can attack you! Fortree Gym - Flying Type Reward: ?? Nothing Skarmory Type: | Weak to: | Pelipper Type: | Weak to: | Tropius Type: | Weak to: | | | | Swellow Type: | Weak to: | | Honchkrow Type: | Weak to: | | | Tip: For this gym i recommend a solid Electric poke to get rid of the nasty birds, 50+ level pokemons is required, even though they are birds they pack a punch. I used an Electrike, leveled up without evolving till 52 to learn Thunder! Mossdeep Gym - Psychic Type Reward: Calm Mind - $2,000 Tate - Lunatone Type: | Weak to: | | | | | Liza - Solrock Type: | Weak to: | | | | | Tip: Sucker Punch is your friend, or any other dark attack really, make sure to battle everysingle trainer here before taking Liza and Tate. Sootopolis City Gym - Water Type Reward: A Trip to Elite 4 Hoen! Juan Luvdisc Type: Weak to: | Whiscash Type: | Weak to: Walrein Type: | Weak to: | | | Crawdaunt Type: | Weak to: | | | | Kingdra Type: | Weak to: | Tip: Any grass type and/or electric type works really well here, nothing special about Juan. Wallace Luvdisc Type: Weak to: | Whiscash Type: | Weak to: Walrein Type: | Weak to: | | | Seaking Type: Weak to: | Milotic Type: Weak to: | Tip: Same as Juan, there is not much Wallace can do if you have a good grass or electric type. Enjoy an easy gym before the E4. Simlacsek
I think I found an easy way to beat the Petalburg gym too. :P My tactic: 1. Start with your any other pokemon against Slaking 2. your starting poke knocked out against Slaking one hit stuff (giga impact punishment..) 3. next, you pick your dig pokemon, and use dig every turn: I. slaking will recharge II. your poke using dig III. Slaking misses the move, bcouse you are underground IV. your poke deals dmg with dig V. repeat (if your dig poke faster than Slaking, you can just ignore step 2.) 4. against Vigoroth, any ghost type wins, he have only normal type moves, so Vigoroth's attack are totally ineffective against it 5. against the second Slaking, the tactix is the same against the first (just dont forget to start with one of your any other poke to got the right sequence) hope it will help somoeone :) 1 Link to comment https://pokemonrevolution.net/forum/topic/68521-hoen-gym-and-e4-guide/#findComment-579590 Share on other sites
