Honbuk Posted August 30, 2017 Share Posted August 30, 2017 Sheer force deals extra damage but in return prevents secondary effects. This also takes effect on life orb, if you're using a move that triggers Sheer force. Let's say you use earthquake. Sheer force does not trigger when using earthquake, because it has no secondary effect. So you deal your normal damage + life orb boost with recoil If you use Thunderbolt for example, which has a secondary effect (para chance), Sheer force gets triggered and you deal your normal damage + Sheer force damage + life orb damage without taking recoil. (The recoil is a secondary effect that vanishes when Sheer force is triggered in the first place) Check this link to see what moves trigger Sheer force.
