it is a display bug. actually your poke with thief is holding an item stolen from the Grimes but it doesn't show up

you can just drag another item from your backpack to that poke

then you will find that the missing item is in your backpack

this bug occurs may because of you running away from the wild poke after you stole the item without beating it

I did as he said, had a bug same, was not equipping anything, after re-log equipped, but the item did not appear. :Frown:

you may had the display bug I described or you didn't successfully steal the item because of Grimer's ability Sticky Hold

I managed to steal, my Pokémon (Furret ) when he attacked in the next round he took damage from the item for not being Poison

what do you mean by "after re-log equipped"?
