First, Thank for reading this topic. Please fix this bug. Sometimes it doesn't work it first turn pokemon appear. i just lose many pvp matches by this bug. Please fix it soon. Thank you.

Try to fight a wild Poke with your Scarf user before you start the fight, as far I knowe it should help.
