error: couldn't switch monitor resolution

Hello,

 

I can't launch the game, when i try, i have this message error "couldn't switch to requested monitor resolution" which shutdown the application.

I tried to switch manually the resolution, and relaunched the game, but it didn't work either.

I've updated my graphics drivers, and changed the resolution manually again, yet the problem persist.

 

I have run out of ideas so i came here hoping someone could help me with the issue.

 

 

To explain a little more, the game worked but was awfully slow (something like 1 fps maybe less if this is even possible, it's an old P-C that wasn't use for a long time), i tried to clear it of old software and malware, but finally had to use the recovery software (a software baught with the computer) and reset to factory setting.
