alright so I went out to catch a beldum in the hoenn safari zone , no issue there , i could find it and all, first time i found it i catched it with like a few pokeballs , no problem , but my friend threw over 100k of pokemoney in there to catch it , and couldnt get it , now i went in there to do it for him since i have a bit more luck in these kind of thing...

2nd encounter i had 67 pokeballs on me , 1 greatball and 5 ultraballs , a total of 73 pokeballs , i could not catch it even though it was on like 1 hp (atleast under 10hp for sure , did not risk to use false swipe as he dmgs himself with takedown) , so i went to buy 200 pokeballs

i only caught it after 120 pokeballs while being on low hp from the 1st one i threw , i made i screenshot from 150pokeballs

after another 20 (so i had like 130 pokeballs left, i went to record it:

now i do understand that beldum is kind of rare to find and its a 9 on a scale from 1-10 of how hard it is to catch , but i mean in total i spend a total of 75k pokemoney just for a beldum , and my friend spend even more (more than 100k pokemoney) just to see it 3 times and not being able to catch it, to sum it up:

3 times entering the safari zone - 15k

pokeballs - 53.400

greatball - 600

ultraballs - 6k

( lucky that it is rounded up on perfect 75k lol )

now with this post i don't want to ask my money or stuff back but i just want that the devs spent attention to this ridiculous amount of effort for only 1 pokemon and hope they would do something about it...

thnx for reading - Eloquent Raccoon

ps - i made the screenshots to my friends on discord just because i thought it was weird ( added that screenshot aswell as a bit more proof so people cant say i make this up)

Beldum is definitely a pain, but beldum is just that way, pro hasn't done anything to make it harder. It has the lowest catchrate pokemon can have which is the same as most legendaries. My suggestion is to get a doublade or a shedinja with false swipe, and also get a ghost with thunderwave or hypnosis, so that you can status the beldums and get them to 1 hp safely. In that state it takes an average of like 25-30 ultraballs to catch, don't use pokeballs unless you want to be there for forever. Is that too much? Yes. Is a good metagross really worth it? In this meta i don't think so. Should it be changed? No, like I said pro doesn't make it any harder, beldum has always been a pain so I don't see a reason to change it.
