Tried to re-download the .rar file;

Tried to use different version (32bit);

In the logging screen, when i try to log in, the "Connecting to server" phrase appears, then it freezes and it un-freezes after a few seconds, and the "Can't connect to server" phrase appears. This always happens after the update, but it used to happen with the previous version, sometimes.

This is pretty common, I have the same thing as you, just keep trying and you'll get in eventually. It just means the server is full at that moment.

Yes, sometimes the info on the main page isn't 100% correct. I'm having the same problem as we speak.

While there is high traffic going on with users trying to login, this causes bandwith issues on the server. Which is the cause of occasionaly client freezes. Or the server has crashed, if the quota is near max you can expect some client freezes along the way and the main site will notify you either the server is full or offline.
