Hi all. I caught defiant primeape and trying him out with his close combat attack. Problem is defiant works when oponnent cripples me but when i use close combat defiant doesnt work. Please help and srry for my bad english :)

that's how it works

raise atk only when the opponent lower your stat

it won't raise atk if you lower your stat by yourself
