I wanna make a game and i would like to know what softwere did you use

There are various apps available for Game Development but before moving ahead with it i would like to know the following

1. Know the type of game you want to make (i.e. a platformer, shooter, RPG).
   
2. Know the budget. There are both free and premium options ripe for the taking.
   
3. Know the length. ...
   
4. Know the basic plot. ...
   
5. Know your skill level.
