Redmoonash started following Vermillion City Bike Quest - Changing your mind about the Ditto

The quest to get a bicycle is a classic one in Pokemon, but in PRO the quest has a custom storyline that caused me a lot of grief when I started out as a new player, because I was stuck with my choice for getting the bike, once I submitted my decision. Old Biker Steven gives players the choice to either spend 60,000 Pokedollars to get their bike, or catch an OT Ditto instead. Now, if Option #1 is chosen, we get the following dialogue. And if we try to talk to Old Biker Steven more, the NPC just repeats that last dialogue. My suggestion is to give an option to change your mind after choosing between Option #1 to catch an OT Ditto and Option #3 to pay 60,000 Pokedollars. This is because in my experience as a new player, I had terrible RNG and spent 6 hours without finding a Ditto at walking speed, then another day of 1-2 hours, then finally on the 3rd day I caught one. All the while, I asked in Help and All chat and people kept saying it took them 15-20 minutes, so this really discouraged me and made me want to quit early on. Is my suggestion feasible? Yes, this would simply add an extra line and a choice to the final dialogue that goes something like this: "If you changed your mind, let me know." 1. Yes, I changed my mind. 2. No, I am sticking with my decision. If the player changes their mind, then this would reset the quest back to the first dialogue, and that's it. The quest continues as normal. If they player does not change their mind, then nothing happens, and this modified final dialogue just replays like the last one did. How does my suggestion benefit the community? If any new players find themselves in my position, then they can simply help themselves out of being stuck with bad RNG, by grinding for the 60,000 Pokedollars, which is doable. I was new and did not have a good way of making money at the time, but beating trainers and wild Pokemon was something I could do. As the quest stands and as it was for me back then, it rewarded players with bad RNG no alternative. Even after I had 60,000 Pokedollars, I did not find the Ditto and just kept trying in vain, then found out I could not change my choice with Old Biker Steven. Since this suggestion would allow players to help themselves out of this situation, it would not require any further work. Not having a bike also blocks players from progression the quest for HM02 Fly as well for the Kanto teleportation system, so this would benefit new players with more versatility in unlocking that quality of life improvement. Strengths and Weaknesses The strengths would be what I previously mentioned, to help new players suffering from RNG by letting them work towards a guaranteed alternative instead. For weaknesses, it would take some extra development and maybe regression testing for this quest as an old one from the first region. Maybe a new bug might emerge depending on some unforeseen dependency in the code, or some other constraint. The suggestion itself would only require 1 extra line of dialogue and 2 new options at face value, plus the ability to reset the quest back to its initial state if the player changes their mind. It's intended to be a lightweight update to this pre-existing legacy quest. If in the case that the player chose to pay 60,000 Pokedollars and the concern is that resetting the quest would present a bug that takes their money without progressing, then I would suggest only allowing the choice to reset while the quest is unfinished. Once the quest is complete through either option, that mind-changing dialogue would be done and moot. I didn't diagram out the other side of the decision block for paying the 60,000 Pokedollars since the suggestion is just to allow for changing from catching an OT Ditto to paying that amount, but it would look the same if it were to be implemented. To be clear, the suggestion is just to give the player a way to change their mind from catching an OT Ditto to paying the 60,000 Pokedollars though. When I was new and brought this up in either Help or All chat, a moderator at the time liked the idea and suggested that I make a thread for it in Suggestions on the forums here, so this is me finally getting around to that. I cannot remember the name, but thank you to whomever it was. Please let me know if there's anything I need to clarify for this suggestion. Thank you.

Hello @Lukayasin! First, welcome back to the game! As you see ingame, Red and Blue server dont exist anymore and become Silver few years ago. To be able to log into the Silver server which is a merge of both, you will require to merge your account from Dashboard which can be accesible from there ! Be sure to pick the server where you have the most hour and want your progress as before. Once you done with it, you will require to confirm your device via catcha send via a ingame pop-up, as shown in the screen you have access to your mail so you should be fine. Hope it answer your issue. Dont hesitate if you have any further questions, I will gladly answer them! I wish you a wonderful day ! Very Respectfully, Zarachi -
