  1. There are countless ways to get in the way of botters, creating awareness is one of them. Attempting a coup or starting a witch hunt however, is not. Topics like these allow players of all kind to be aware of your intentions, botters also among them, allowing them to be more cautious than before.

Hint : There is a reason why GM's roam invisible ;)

306271 I'm sure you had a sync with you, I'm sure you were walking left/right or up/down but not in odd shape, and I'm sure bots don't go to the moon xD

Yeah, you would probably understand that I'm not a bot, what I was saying is that is too dangerous hunt bot only this way.

This is just a bad moment, but they will hire new staff soon.. believe me, let's leave this stuff to them.

You can still find botters and report them, making things easier for staff :y:

  3. 306271
306266 Nah, no such privilage will never be given to regular player ranks.

Can't they create a new rank? Below GM, but that can teleport players to Antiban Classroom?

Sure, but it will still remain a staff rank, making the recruitment of it also bound to staff. And to be honest, it an unnecesary one at that. CC, Tmods, GM's can all do that.

  4. 306265 I appreciate the idea of a dedicated group for hunting down bots. Even if staff can't give it the power to ban, they can give it the power to send bots to Antiban Classroob. Also, staff can recruit players they know won't abuse of this power.

Of course, I would like to be one of the hunters as I hunt bots and report them when I'm bored.

Nah, no such privilage will never be given to regular player ranks.

  5. 305861
305840 Or just maybe, PRO staff could look into coding a PRO variant of Punkbuster and/or similar anti-cheat/bot scripts? Or just bluntly into dissecting the bot programs themselves bit by bit? Datamine all the bot scripts files for research and create additional security scripts/steps accordingly?

That's exactly what they did a few month ago(or something similar) to ban the 3k botters in the first place. It's very very easy to detect and ban bots, but it's hard to do so without disrupting regular play. With what you are saying, you can pretty easily mis-ban, think of if you ban 1 user for every 500 bots you ban, now you have to deal with tons of bots that attempt to appeal with the 1 user buried within them. Who's gonna tell the difference, and who's gonna deal with all the appeals?

You need a 100% accurate way of detecting bots, even 99% accurate is not enough because it's potentially harmful for the actual players.

That's what happened to the Antiban classroom, they got rid of it because they have too many people whining about disrupting normal game play, while it's actually the best way to detect bots without putting too much human effort into it.

  6. 304286 its a good suggestion without a doubt by introducing a Redeemable MS via a requirements points,or any other method would definitely lower the MS price on the market at the moment. However, considering that MS (aside from coins) is an integral part of the fund system to support the server rent and maintenance, i dont see this being implemented ever. You need to understand the whole "demand & supply" system to make a change on the PRO's economy. As of now, the massive influx of Pds is messing with all prices in market. Even with the current money sink, it is still not enough to counter the huge pile of money generated by botters. Everyone knows that botters is the real reason of it. Offering prices which far more higher than the rest of us would offer, tempted by greed, the seller sells it according to the newest prices for an instant profit. I do believe that we will find a way to fix this sooner, just like what we did during the fall of MS prices. I hope everyone is willing to share their opinions and helping in making a better future for PRO.

i agree with pengin, having MS obtainable without payment will inevitably drain PRO off of funds, which will result in the game suffering real money economical crisis. There are possible solutions to make MS more reachable by common players rather than being only available for the rich. One being choking the economy into lowering the prices. ofcourse this will have to be done by the players, since its not something staff can dictate under any circumstances. Other reason is the least likely to happen and the most harsh one. Having MS being disallowed to trade and only to be gifted upon buying (i.e. buy/gift membership => buy for self => gift for person a) which will stabilze MS amount to a certain level and only to be available upon demand, only difference being the currency required for MS will be detarmined by staff upon consulting with the community and finding a middle way for their needs.

  7. A certain staff member or a collective of staff members leaving is not something new that has been seen in the history of fanmade mmorpg's. People will come and go and new will replace them eventually. This game wont be running forever or the same staff wont be here when they become 75 years old. If staff have their reasons to leave, its on them. If they want to return its on them as well.

And on that note, lets not turn this into a huge conspiracy theory and respect their desicions. As it was stated by Thor earlier today, there will be openings for staff position, if you want to help PRO in this situation, that will be your chance.

  8. 294601 although i don't completely disagree with red and blue coming together but i know its not that easy :3

Two completely different servers which operate on different database functionality, merging them into one server (not to mention the reason "why" multiple servers were created) is nearly impossible, with the hardware PRO servers are running at the moment (which was pointed out by shane). On that regard, it is safely to say that this will indeed never going to happen. Atleast not for reasons like this.

  9. 294090 As stated in an above comment, if this is a recurring thing from the same user feel free to log a harassment report and it will be dealt with accordingly, however please note one pm "reported" does not constitute harassment (have had that in the past - wont be dealt with the same way as a harassment case).

Which creates a small loophole in this instance :

    Here are a few tips that you can use for your own benefit in those harassment matters ;

Firstly, you can screenshot (if repetitive by the same person or a pack of them (i.e. guild etc.) with the time-stamps on your game and pc time to create a small album in which, where and how those pesky little PM's occur, which will be easier to weed out and follow punishment protocols.

Secondly, if made by the same person over a period of time, and you can't be bothered to screenshot all of them whenever it happens, you can just minimize the PM box and move it to corner of your screen, in case it happens again and will be able to show time-stamps in those PM's.

  10. Relations between players are always essential and bound to get out of hand in online communities. Drama as well as peace will be there in times like this. Though it always best to keep thing between certain people and not officialize it to bring more people to view it, ofcourse for their own sake. Keep in mind that this is just a game in the very end, which will also take its place in the pages of history. Make the most of it and enjoy to its fullest :)

  11. 250208 As one of the Head GMs, I feel that I can say: LeoChaos is correct. We as staff don't go by what the seller puts in his shop, especially if it goes against one of PROs rules (or even against more than one of the rules.) We encourage everyone, that if you see someone putting these ridiculous stipulations all up in their trade post things, report them. Cause I can make them change it, or I can remove it. They can have their pick. That will be all for now

Have a great day, all of you!

Except you cannot view before and after post edits. This makes moderation powerless in those circumstances. That is the exploitable gray area.

  12. You can have variety of topics that are created in your native language. Off Topic, Guild Threats etc. etc. There are certain reasons behind this. One being the moderation, which is atleast made of 70% of the staff, where you'd have to put a certain staff member who is bilingual to watch a specific thread(s). This is not a healthy moderation tactic. On that regard, i'd say having a forum section solely made for a certain language is a bad idea, where the tracking of the context plus the workload unnecessarily divided among certain staff members as well as isolating the thread from the rest of the players whom do not speak the said language is not feasable. I wouldn't personaly mind having a topic where you'd be able to write in your own language as well as adding a translation of it in english to the bottom of it to create a more open and easily viewable discussion for the collective of people and staff alike.

  13. 249573
249565 Trades, especially in the forums as easily exploitable. A player can soft-edit their post to change the price of their trades at will. Unless you can provide evidence of the said trade. There is not much that can be done, staff side atleast. However, i'll list down a few suggestions of my own to prevent such things from occuring :

1 - Trade posts that are unable to edit without trade-mod permission (the post have to be reported by the OP for a t-mod to edit it out. I.E. : Pokemon 1 has been sold, edit it out.

2- Each trade thread has to be approved by trade mods as must be screenshotted before approval and stored for further analysis (for reports, post editing and whatnot)

This is a great suggestion. +1

My only concern with this is the amount of work a tmod may have considering the amount of activity the trade forums have on an individual level. As far as the soft editing goes. The ENJIN forum service allows anyone with authorization to view an edit to a post. I imagined the same was possible on these forums, even though it is not ENJIN.

It is possible via forum settings (which requires an admin to enable it)

There are enough t-mods and cc's to handle trade forums. As its the t-mods duty to ensure no rules of trading is being broken.

  15. 249491
249486 8. Deceiving/Scamming people when it comes to trading or battling is prohibited.

Prices wont be narrowed down to your liking unless the seller is willing to. Neither Staff nor Players have the authority to dictate this.

Here is a little economics tip. If you choke a certain brand by protesting against it with not buying anything it sells, it will die off or submit to the demands of their buyers.

I understand that rule completely. However this is nothing to do what I am referring to. I understand that a player has the right to price their pokemon however they want to. I never protested that. It was the fact that certain players were adjusting their prices/insta prices MID AUCTION simply because they wanted to get more money.

Leaving open a gray area so that if say Player A: Has an insta of 450. and Player B: Says he will pay that insta, Player A could then just change the insta price since he now knows someone is willing to pay an (x) amount for (x) pokemon. Since he stated in his auction rules that he could change an insta price EVEN MID AUCTION It basically leaves a buyer powerless. However from what i've gathered this is against the rules. So how those auctions were even allowed to maintain those rules escapes me.

Unless I misinterpreted the rules to begin with.

When that happens, you have the right to report the said player. Having the evidence of both edited and unedited version of the thread. If you can be bothered by it. Without evidence, staff are powerless to act.

Additionaly, this topic belongs in general game talk rather than suggestions, atleast from what i've seen.

  16. 8. Deceiving/Scamming people when it comes to trading or battling is prohibited.

Aside from that rule, which strictly disallows any sort of scamming (promise of giving the said Pokemon to claiming a pokemon is shiny while it isn't etc.) Players do have the power to enforce their own price in their trades, wether the amount is valid or not. Its upto the buyers wether to buy it or not. However, if the said player increases the price to lets say 20m for a random person and 10k for a friend, that falls under scamming as well. Thats the zone where you are allowed to report the said player. Sellers have the option to name their price, and the buyer has the option not to buy it. Prices wont be narrowed down to your liking unless the seller is willing to. Neither Staff nor Players have the authority to dictate this.

  17. 235010 The game was very fun up until the point where I had to fight the elite four. That's great. Except I learned that grinding is especially required to even get a chance at defeating the elite 4. To gain from level 50+ to 75+. I also learned that in order to reach Hoenn, a level 80 rattata was required. I'm shaking my head at this point asking why. I'm not happy with that fact because rattata is a terrible Pokemon to begin with, and it could very well take hours to even reach that point and it's not going to be fun. I feel like it's added there for the sake of it.

There are a few aspects of the game just made for the shits and giggles. Most of them, which started off as an inside or community wide joke. Only youngster joey made it to the level of "boss npc" grinding level is a tad more than the original handheld games, but this is an intentional addition to that level, making your regular gameplay (PvEvP) much more harder in comparrison to the handheld games, which are utterly boring (till gen 4). PRO's Kanto region has more content than Pokemons R/B/Y, G/S/C, R/S/E combined. That gives you a little bit of the scale that is drawn here. Where you are given a glimpse of what PRO's content developement is aiming, a more rich gameplay with more interaction. A proper feedback would be, how to make grinding more tolerable and rewarding without causing damage to storyline, gameplay and economy.

235010 The only thing that really diminishes my impressions of the game is the repetitive grinding. I get that it's an mmo. But this type of repetitive fighting monsters to level up and progress is the type of MMO I'd be playing in 2003. Not the type of mmos that would provide me with fun things to do that doesn't feel like I'm grinding. Don't get me wrong, I'd like the game to be hard, but not to the point where I have to farm for hours to be successful. That's not difficulty, it's time sink, and puts a mental strain on me as a player fighting geodudes for 5 hours, when I really want a chance to see more the content that the game has to offer. To get to the point, repetitive grinding is annoying and extremely boring.

Games, in definition are time sinks. You need to be able to spend countless hours to the point where you can be proud of your achievements. Wether this completing storylines, pokedex, events or even rankings (PvP obv) to gain more and more rewards at the end.

235010 I would really like to see more custom content in the game that does not require me to beat the elite four, or catch 200 Pokemon. There isn't a lot, and it would really help if more options were given to us early in the story game. Finding a quest/content to do only to find that it can't be done until much later in the game is beyond frustrating. Quests where I have to defeat some boss pre elite four is nice. MMOs like World of Warcraft, GW2, and ESO added quests into the game to make the experience more enjoyable and not feel like I'm fighting the same monsters over and over to get a small amount of exp. I'm focused on the gameplay and story as I level. If you think that just because it's an mmo excuses the repetitiveness of the game then keep in mind that this concept is extremely outdated and puts a lot of frustration to casual players who have life obligations that keep them from fully experiencing the game. At this point this game feels like a full time job instead of a game that is fun enough to escape from it.

Unlike the games you have been listed, Pokemon is limited by its own design. Maps, storyline and whatnot. And considering that PRO is still on the stage of early developement, it will take some time to be able to provide custom contents (talking about custom region). As of now, there are only a handful of aspects that are custom made content wise, the newest addition valley of steel and moon map are a good example to that. If you look at pokemon itself as a content, you can only do much. 750+ pokemons to catch, train and battle. Thats a limitation. 5 regions (only PRO can use as map source) is a limitation. On that regard, having too high expectations will only crush your hopes more in content wise (in regards of comparrison to WoW GW2 etc. etc.)

Suggestions and productive feedback is always welcome and considered in order to make new and more enjoyable gameplay to PRO as a whole.

  18. you can play on all 3 servers at the same time if you want. account creation is based on how many accounts you have "in total"

    i.e.

    usernameA

    usernameB

    usernameC

    usernameD

unless the number stated isn't breached, you can whatever u want with your accounts.
