  1. I hadn’t initially planned to comment the post because we always see the same people participating and giving their opinions on forum poll, what is not really good in my opinion. Something should really be done to collect information INGAME because too many players don’t even bother to come on forum to stay updated.

Why am I in favor of rotating OU/UU?
I am of course in favor of having anything that can bring some fresh air to pvp in PRO because what I like the most is having challenges and thinking of not too common teams that perform well in ranked. While I can understand that people can have fun by using the same Pokemon over and over again, even for years, I am sick of restrictions that obliterate the work of volunteer people and lead to stale (aka stable, aka healthy aka competitive) metagame.

    About PRO specifities
I didn’t join PRO in 2018, to play a fan game that reproduces the same « errors » as the main series games (Pokemon is not a MMO) or other fan made Pokemon MMO (pay to win, following banned list from Smogon etc.) For me when you come here, you kind of agree that you have to hunt or buy Pokemon to pvp, you agree to do quests, you agree that things take time to be implemented since this is done by volunteers etc.
For many years, even though it tends to improve now, I noticed that OU Pokemon were easier to farm than non viable 5G/6G Pokemon (this may of course be because we don’t have the corresponding maps region) so when you try to be creative just for having fun, you suffer double pain: hard time finding the pokemon, hard time because you underperform in pvp (If you don’t believe me, just try to hunt phantump, karrablast, bouffalant, espurr, binacle, trubbish, sigilyph or mienfoo). We can’t expect people to be creative if it’s either impossible to hunt or called useless by people quoting Smogon in every discussion. This is something that Walross may get rid off by adding new pvp quests (I can’t wait to see them ^^).

This situation doesn’t exist in Smogon because you don’t need to farm and many Pokemon can find a way to shine in one of the so many tiers that exist. We can’t have that in PRO, we are too small of a community. But I believe that this is the pvp council work, in conjunction with Walross, to design a pvp scene that takes into account PRO specifities. Until now unfortunately,  some pvp council members seem to be solely concern on following main series games or Smogon what is a great paradox when nothing prevents them to play one or the other.

Why can rotating metagame be a good thing for PRO overall?

To conclude, rotating metagame is what I believe can suit the best PRO MMO specifities since it encourages people to enrich their Pokemon experience by not being stick to what they believe is a strong Pokemon or not, and therefore, to finally take possession of all that this game offers in terms of content. I mean, as a player, I have always been here for pve AND pvp, if we apply decisions based only on one or the other aspect, this will imbalance the game and lead to situations where having many people working on so many aspects of the game useless (We are talking about pvp here but don’t worry I have the same kind of thought about pve not being good at all, since it only requires 6 pokemon, but this is just not the place to talk about that ^^) .

I would have even considered going further, by changing the list of banned pokemon with each new season just to offer a different experience but I know that's far too controversial to ever happen so I'll be happy with these tier rotations and the new pvp quests.

Oh, and if UU does come someday, please offer a way to extend the storage. OU sets are already too difficult to deal with in 60 boxes, it will be even harder with UU sets.

  2. Wow. I really like the idea of new pvp quests and the new pvp reward system could perfectly fit with it. I think this can encourage people doing pvp and adding some kind of diversity in the pvp scene at the same time since you could be rewarded for using uncommon Pokemon you hunted. Definitely a something good since we are playing a MMO.

Here are my suggestions regarding new pvp quests:

    Daily PVP quests:

Play 3 matches: reward 1 RC or 1 PP UP

Play 5 matches: reward 2 RCs or 2 PP UPs

Pkay 10 marches: reward 5 RCs or 5 PP UPs

Play a game with X in your team: reward 1 token

(the Pokemon should not be in the top 50 most used Pokemon imo)

Play a game with a shiny/event form (Halloween in October, Xmas in December etc.) with your OT: 1 token

Play a match with a monotype team: reward 1 random pvp berry (Custap, salac etc.)

Play a match with 0 X type Pokemon: reward 1 random pvp berry

    Weekly PVP quests:

Get a minim of X rating: reward pvp coins

Win 3 matches with at least 3 OT non legendary Pokemon: reward 1 token

Win 5 matches with at least 3 OT non legendary Pokemon: reward 2 tokens

Win 10 matches with at least 3 OT non legendary Pokemon: reward 5 tokens

Win 3 matches with less than 2 legendary Pokemon: reward 1 token

Win 5 matches with less than 2 legendary Pokemon: reward 2 tokens

Win 10 matches with less than 2 legendary Pokemon: reward 5 tokens

    Seasonal PVP quests:

    Finishing top 25

Finishing season with more than 200 rating without using YOUR most used Pokemon from last season: reward 20 pvp coins

Finishing season with more than 200 rating  without using even once, one of the most used Pokemon from last season: reward 50 pvp coins

  3. A number of things have already been suggested, but I'm still going to reiterate the need to see them implemented if possible. I am a stats fanatic so most of the things I would like to see in this new pvp window are stats.

    Current season stats:
    - current rank in OU/UU/RANDOM
    - current rank of the guild the player belongs to
    - number of wins, losses and winning percentage
    - last 5 opponents, their team and the outcome of the match (win by surrender, win by dc, win by black out, draw, lose by surrender, lose by dc, lose by black out)
    - current winning streak
    - series of defeats in progress
    - top 25 in OU/UU/RANDOM
    - top 10 guilds
    - a badge indicating that the player was top 25 last month with his rank

    Statistics of past seasons :
    - see for the last 5 seasons (for example) the number of wins/losses and the associated percentage
    - be able to see the top 25 in OU/UU/RANDOM of the last 5 seasons or more if possible
    - to be able to consult the usage of the 50 most used Pokemon
    - see the top 3 of the last ladder tournament
    - see the top 3 of the last summer tournament
    - see the top 3 of the last guild tournament

    Statistics of all times :
    - see how many times the player has been top 25 OR/UU/RANDOM
    - longest unbeaten streak (specify number, season and opponent against which the streak ended)
    - Best winning percentage achieved and the season in which it occurred
    - average rank of opponents played in pvp OR/UU/RANDOM
    - the average rank of defeated opponents in pvp OR/UU/RANDOM
    - the average rank of the opponents the player lost to in pvp OR/UU/RANDOM
    - the 6 Pokemon most used by the player in percentage of use as well as their winning percentage
    - the percentage of victory of the player against other guilds
    - the 5 opponents that the player has faced the most since he started pvp
    - the 5 opponents against whom the player has won the most (specify wins/losses/percentage)
    - the 5 opponents against whom the player has lost the most (specify losses/victories/percentage)
    - time spent on pvp

Of course, you should also have in this window, access to the links to the updated rules in pvp, the current bugs (for example the list of bugged attacks etc.), the list of banned things.  In addition to these elements, I would also like to have an indication of how many players are pvping, and if the commands "gavoidpvp" and "avoidlastopponent" are active for the player.

I would call you blind but I am not a toxic person and also you are probably not bcs you have been posting.

Dont you see the bracket next to their names, I am clearly just putting a point, not asking for there ban.

Hope you take these nicely, Thanks .

😂😂😂 this can’t be funnier because I didn’t say that you asked for their bans but I said that you mentioned them as fallacious arguments 🤷‍♂️. There is no point to keep on talking here because you don’t even understand rhetoric.

"Opening Doors" Isnt that what Pokemon is about, teammates helping each other? Weavile clears way for mega Alakazam, Magnezone does the same for Mega Altaria. All I am trying to say is that these are not valid points for Ninja ban

I believe you didn't read the post, neither the discussion.

I along with others here never stated how we love ninja, how we spent money on it ( I didnt anyway) , how we farmed ninja for hours, nor we asked for chansey or alomolola ban. Kindly go through it all for making a valid ban/ unban comment!

The fact that you are using a petition to bring back Greninja is clearly because you ask for people to agree on non solid arguments (already mentioned by more experienced players than you) that’s why I mentioned the other arguments I read  many times before. You ask me to read all the topics but dude you should first since you can’t even remember that you mentioned that chansey alomomola should be banned. By the way, I don’t need a player like you to valid or invalid one of my comment 😂

  6. -1 All arguments in favor of Greninja ban have been discussed in the pvp council. You can find more examples and arguments in smogon articles. If you can’t understand why a Pokemon like Greninja should be banned for an healthy metagame sorry to say that, but you may lack sufficient knowledge to properly play Pokemon in a « competitive way ». This decision has nothing to do with « it has been there for 2 years », « people love greninja », « we spent lot of money on it » or even « I’ve been farming greninja for hours ». What comes from reading your complaints is that you don’t understand how a ban is decided. So instead of using  fallacious arguments (like alomomola and chansey should be banned since they are unbreakable) try to understand what is an healthy metagame.

  7. -1.

I have read so many complaints about the recent bans decided by Walross. For me, he did the right thing and the only argument I can actually understand is that Walross should have let people know about these bans before the release of the Pokemon.

Regarding complaints about Greninja ban, people interested in Pokemon from a « competitive » perspective should know that Showdown players agreed to ban it in 6G with ORAS released. ORAS giving to Greninja all its coverage moves like low kick, gunk shot and one of the reasons it can actually pressure in an unhealthy way, so many teams.

    https://www.smogon.com/smog/issue44/ou-to-ubers

It’s not because we, players, have been able to use it during years that this means Greninja is OK for the meta.

Mega sableye/mega Mawile are Pokemon that obviously restrict team building way too much and should be banned for that very reason.

Mega Metagross ban is also fine in my opinion regarding how bulky, fast and powerful this Pokemon is although, Unlike the other two I could understand it being unbanned regarding how it suffers from 4 moves syndrome.

Arguments about how popular a Pokemon is, are totally irrelevant when you must decide a ban.

ex: I like Lucario, Mega Lucario should be allowed in pvp. LOL

Arguments like « but I can tank it with... or revenge kill it with » are also limited if you are referring to uncommon/unused Pokemon for the benefit of a broken one.

ex:  I can tank Mega Mawile with Impish Arcanine. Yes bro, and what do you do with this super dog against other teams -_-.

I think we can all agree that revenge killing Aegislash could be done with many Pokemon but this is not sufficient for it to be allowed.

I can see it coming already, people telling me « PRO is not Showdown, PRO has its own META, PRO players don’t have  the Showdown players skills etc. » I could say yes to all these questions but did we do anything to show it to Walross when we could do it? I mean did we, as players, argument about wanting our own meta?

When Staff asks for our opinions only few people show interest about it, but when decisions are finally made, many complaints come, lol.

PRO has its own specificity since we either have to farm or buy Pvp Pokemon. Is this specificity the only reason why PRO meta is so stale and resilient to changes and diversities?

For me the answer is no. This is all due to the laziness, miscommunication and intellectuall dishonesty of all people involved in PRO.
