So my friend, said red's charizard was easy. Because it would only spam earth power versus this pokemon that had levitate, he took out 3 of reds pokemon. *this is at the kanto-johto registration gate beforeyou challenge e4/go to victory road.* Okay so like.. I'm thinking, okay - a charizard X equals fire and dragon. Okay, so lets do some thinking. Fire/Dragon Versus my level 67 Kingdra who is Water/Dragon. Yeah, type advantages.. right? Wrong. SO. F'IN WRONG. Flare blitz - HALF HP'D KINGDRA. Now, LETS talk about that for a moment. How? Is red's charizard like level 75+? If so why are we not warned before hand to train up big time - because Giovanni was EASY then this monster just wipes the floor with me. My whole team after kingdra goes down is getting 1-2 hit by everything. None of them, even absol with sucker punch can touch him. It's just disastrous. Are we supposed to lose this battle? Or Is this just showing how utterly pathetic I am to lose to red? Yeah. I'm pretty mad.

It's more challenging - I'll agree shift is too easy in the actual games. But it seriously makes it harder when you don't know a gymleaders exact team.

Server status at the side of the login window
Pinknblack replied to Fristermister's topic in Suggestions
Yeah, It definitely needs to be added. Just good for the community and the team, it would make their burden less with having to answer questions 24/7 about server status. They could just put it right there under server news in the client. "Server online - server offline." Single line of text or a little box that's just fearing a "On/Off" switch that an admin can sync to beable to press a button and it sends out a little click. When the server goes offline - as a players i trying to log in - it turns their on/off button to off to let them know the server was down when they tried connect. -
I agree sounds like a great Idea. Put realistically speaking some of the staff would probably find it tedious to even think about working on. I would love it. Specially membership - special hairs.

Most of why I said that in that block of text is because I've taken Public Relation courses. You can tell whose gone through them in regards to business (Which yes, those who run this game are basically now a business/team behind a game that created a revenue to run it.) A Good PR specialist is someone who can give fluid answers with a nice amount of attitude to make them seem welcoming. It's really about your tone when typing - borderline annoying usually is more inviting - than harsh and distant. Lentz is really good at talking to people in a nice way, unless they get super annoying. Really nice skill with talking to others, explaining the reasons why a decision is made. "We're differant people." You work for the same team. "They are fine the way they are." - A player would say in defense of you. To which I would reply- "What happens if one day they are dealing with 5k people on a daily basis?" "Do you really believe they will be able to handle that many individuals with pure definitive answers."
-
Also Nelth, you really need to work on replying to people in the tone of text that you type messages. Absolute replies in a beta are something that need to be explained upon. "There will be nothing like you suggest." Why? Explain your thoughts and reasonings. You are basically the PR department for THIS game, when new players come in - they see alot of you. You give alot of face-time. And it's a bit irksome because it's like some quiet teenager locked up in a room not truly talking to people. "It's this way because we say so." Why is it this way, Why is it not being explained more. A BETA is all about communication with the community. Even if someones suggestion is not correct or okay, you need to define your points and refine your analysis so new and old players will understand and connect. "We play just to play." Won't always be the type of players you get. It's not that hard to explain why in one message.
-
So the idea of being able to select the region of origin is one you guys, as the staff - do not like? Because I can pretty much say quite a few people hoped for that when the started playing. We understand a BETA not giving it, but that - as an end tale option - would seem a bit rediculous not to implant. some players might not ever reach the end at that rate. I've already witnessed some players quitting the game because of the fact that they were unable to get their 'signature' pokemon. "It's in johto!" "Can you get it for me?" "I can't give it to you until you get to johto." "This is stupid." "Ragequit`"

It also would not be a horrible idea to put exp increases/membership on hold while the SERVER is down. You can complain saying that's just greedy - but really they do not lose anything to pause the server time while it's actually down. If players can't access it, why should things they paid for be used up? Aka I lost a whole day of an exp increase I bought - OUT OF 3 DAYS I LOST A WHOLE ONE- due to that host issue. I didn't complain, I understood the situation. But it's bad PR when you do not include small features like that. In most mmos these days, you can tell the good ones because - tera- will pause their limited time items while your offline. Aka say you got a 24 hour outfit? It does not get used up while your offline. It only uses itself up while your online. It's just good. PR. (Public Relations.)

It is expensive for people in other countries, or those that do not have a job. $5 a month seems like nothing for an american whose working class. But a 15 year old whose working their ass off and spending $5 of their hard earned money- An adult who lives paycheck to paycheck spending $5 which could be used on food? College students who can't afford a work schedule due to 16-21 credit semesters. It's pretty small of a fine - but some people don't mind paying it. I didn't donate to donate, I donated because it came with benefits. I can also say, out of the 3 days f membership, i've only played 5 hours with it. Due to server being down and real life. The moments I can actually play it on my own time - It was USUALLY down.

Hiya! Okay so I got a question about something... mmm.. Are you guys planning at any point in the future to - when regions are finished, enable players to select their starter region? I know it's pretty like.. set in stone right now - start in kanto, beat e4 to unlock other regions. But for some of us, who have been playing since *Literally Red/Yellow/Blue* It's a bit of a meh. situation for me atleast. My ex who plays the game also would rather get to start in hoenn (In the future maybe?) Personally I've always been a Johto fan. I know It's a pretty tedious question. I'm sorry, I'm also probably not the first to ask for this. But theirs something just.. you gotta admit.. that though, that feeling? Of knowing their are new players on a totally differant continent than you. Maybe having region/continent limited chats until players get their 6th badge - then they can access a world chat. But Just imagine. Lil Jimmy is a trainer from Pallet town. Lil Timmy is from Hoenn. Lil Susie is from Sinnoh. None of them can talk to each other, yet one day they might meet either by one visiting the others continent. Or a Battle frontier area - where tournaments and special battle modes are held, for players from each region to duke it out with their pokemon they spent all their heart and soul working on. It would be like the anime, where trainers from unova barely know of kanto except for its name. Same with sinnoh-ers and hoenn. It would be beautiful and amazing to watch a new trainer meet someone for the first time who they havn't seen over an all chat in the battle frontier.

I just think it would feel more .. realistic in regards to pokemon. :) hi again Lentz. I mean, yeah it's a mmo, it's an game, but it would be very 'realistic' feeling. if you get what I mean? Like on alot of games running fo rlong periods of time has a stamina gauge that drains out. Or blocking with a shield on some mmos, drains your block gauge.

So I was reading around the forums and it's pretty obvious they don't want to add in fly as this map transporting system Without having it either 1. Be member only 2. Cost money/coins to use? I find that sort of bullshit, here is why. It's a mmo setting right? The game franchise has had fly in it since the very beginning. In the anime AND manga, trainers could use Pokemon to fly (HELLO. ASH AND CHARIZARD.) But, one of the things that nobody seems to have mentioned that I have seen An Energy Gauge. Okay yeah now you're thinking "that's blasphemous and would never work!" Hear me out, think of it sort of like this. Fly in previous gens has always been this sort of teleport you from one town to the other, UNTIL alpharuby/omegasapphire. In which latios/latias brought something extremely new to the table: Flying through the terrain. Okay now we're thinking "How would you be able to do that on this game?" You obviously won't. Simply because you can't in the 2d version, but what you could do is make your flying type a very "fast" moving pokemon 'mount' that can ignore certain types of terrain. This won't beable to be used 24/7 though, because (This is just the idea, statistics not worked out.) It relies on your flying type pokemons Evolution tier, level, and speed stat to determine the energy gauge. The gauge would go down every 20 seconds you are flying by like one point, or every second by one point. HOW FAST you fly, would be determined by your flying type pokemon's speed. Say you got a 50 speed fearow versus a 70 speed staraptor, star would fly faster and probably have a larger gauge than fearow, enableing it to travel it's trainer farther than fearow would beable to. You could make special 'area's that are only able to be travelled by a flying type. The energy gauge could recharge over time, say once you've landed, every minute gives you two energy gauge points or something. Aka if your flying between little islands, you'd fly to this one - then wait a bit, fly to the next one. More realistic right? Also certain abilities (I don't have any at the top of my head) could make this better or worse. Just an Idea, feel free to hate on it as much as you want or offer suggestions to it.

Not hating on the competitive scene. Bolded that for a reason, Okay - Does anyone else remember the old days? When you were 5-10 years old waking up to watch pokemon every saturday? You see Ash catching, loving, training these pokemon to let them be who they wanted to be. Do you remember Paul? The actual trainer that was an EV trainer. Do you remember watching him turn away his chimchar because it was too weak for him? I get it, you guys want to win, you guys REALLY want to win. You want the utterly BEST Pokemon you can get. Because all other Pokemon that are less than the best are shit. It's just, a little bit frustrating - when someone who grew up owning every pokemon game, and who was a casual player. Came to the online scene to find everyone raging and biting people over Iv's, Ev's and stuff like that. Growing up it was shiny or not - nobody really cared. They trained their teams and battled without really caring about the pokemon's Iv's. But I mean, I feel like this community is going to be the type to completely dominate just by ruining the game for those who does not want to sit there and find perfect IV pokemon just to have a chance at succeeding. It's like I just started, but I'm already sort of feeling like I'm going to just stop playing before even the first gym just because I look at the chat and seeing people Only talking about if a pokemon is shit or not based on it's stats. I mean, yeah it's shit. It's stats arn't good for competitive. Maybe I'm just old, I'm 18 years old - I grew up with pokemon, I grew up thinking of Paul as a badguy because of how he treated his pokemon. "It's just a game and we want to win." That will be basically anyone's comment about it. I mean, I don't know but does the game have pokemon contests? Are those here? because Those were fun. Battling other trainers who are ev training like hell is not fun. Specially if you do not care for EV training, but then it kind of ruins the point of a Pokemon MMO doesn't it?
