what about the upcoming server merge? will the items from gold mailbox go to my silver mailbox? as a merged server mailbox?

possible to get lost items in the mailbox back? I sent a mount and 2 cosmetics from my gold to silver account not knowing the mailbox is not cross server. So are they just gone forever? big sad
