  4. ok first off, what are ev's? ev stands for effort value. they are points you can get form defeating pokemon in PvE that will increase the stat value of your pokemon. you can have a max of 510 ev's total per pokemon and 252 per stat; (some games it's 255, but the stats go up every 4 points @100 so the last 3 are useless. at low levels you will find your stat does not go up every 4 ev's. their is a mathematical equation behind the scenes: what this means is @level 50 your stat will go up every 8 ev's and @100 it will go up every 4. with a even iv @level 50 the stat will only increase up to 248 ev's. stat calc:https://www.psypokes.com/dex/stats.php if you are thinking "what does this mean? i don't get it" you are not alone. the simplified version is more ev's=higher stat every pokemon gives a different kind and amount of ev's when you defeat them. some give more then one kind. the ev's are listed on the bulbapedia page of the pokemon. their is currently no where in game to my knowledge where they are displayed. you can use macho brace to doubles your ev gain. when you kill a gyarados with no brace you get 2 attack ev's. when you kill it with a brace you get 4. you can also use exp shares to share ev's. when a pokemon defeats a pidgey it gets 1 speed ev. when a pokemon defeats a pidgey and every member of the party is holding a exp share, everyone gets a speed ev. you can use multiple exp shares in combination with macho brace to ev up to 6 pokemon at a time if they need the same ev's. now if you are asking "what difference is there between a ev train and non ev trained pokemon" you are not alone. a ev trained pokemon will always be stronger then a non ev trained pokemon all other things being equal. handy calcs non ev'd jolteon vs non ev'd snorlax 0 SpA Jolteon Thunderbolt vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Snorlax: 97-115 (21 - 24.9%) -- guaranteed 5HKO ev'd jolt vs non ev'd lax 252 SpA Jolteon Thunderbolt vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Snorlax: 121-144 (26.2 - 31.2%) -- guaranteed 4HKO ev'd jolt vs ev'd lax 252 SpA Jolteon Thunderbolt vs. 144 HP / 176+ SpD Snorlax: 94-112 (18.9 - 22.5%) -- possible 5HKO non ev'd metagross vs ev'd snorlax(curselax set) 0+ Atk Metagross Meteor Mash vs. 144 HP / 188 Def Snorlax: 153-181 (30.7 - 36.4%) -- 60.6% chance to 3HKO ev'd metagross vs ev'd lax 252+ Atk Metagross Meteor Mash vs. 144 HP / 188 Def Snorlax: 184-217 (37 - 43.6%) -- guaranteed 3HKO non ev'd metagross vs non ev'd tyranitar 0+ Atk Metagross Meteor Mash vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Tyranitar: 254-302 (74.4 - 88.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO ev'd meta vs non ev'd tyrantiar 252+ Atk Metagross Meteor Mash vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Tyranitar: 306-362 (89.7 - 106.1%) -- 37.5% chance to OHKO ev'd vs ev'd 252+ Atk Metagross Meteor Mash vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Tyranitar: 306-362 (75.7 - 89.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO in short, ev training will not always make the difference between defeat and victory, but sometimes it will. this guide should help you start winning more often if you are not already ev training. gambate
  5. this method + normal 200yen poke balls is exponentially cheaper, especially since you can reuse the utility Pokemon endlessly for only the initial cost of making them.

  7. ok for this guide i will be explaining the 2 most popular methods maximize your chances at catching wild pokemon. first off move explanation, -false swipe swipe will always leave a minimium 1 hp to the target. if you hit a 1hp pokemon with it, it will do no damage. -substitute sub creates a sub in front of your pokemon that will absorb damage, status, and most other things. it will take 1/4 of your health rounded down, and will have the same stats as you. when it takes damage equal or greater then it's hit points it will die. if you have a hp stat that has a remainder of .25, .5, or .75 after you divide it by 4 then you can make 4 substitutes assuming no healing moves/items/ability's. if you have a hp that can be divded by 4 evenly then you can only make 3 substitutes. -endeavor endeavor will make your targets hit points equal to yours, unless you have more hp then the target. the trick false swipe can be used to get your wild target to 1hp. because your targets hp affects the catch rate, a 1hp pokemon is easier to catch. status also increases your chance of catching the wild pokemon, however that chance vary's from generation to generation. i prefer paralyze, since it does no damage and does not wear off, but sleep is also acceptable. freeze is unreliable and dependent on random number generation. toxic/poison will kill the target eventually, which you do not want so they are out. now what if the target is immune to normal moves? you use substitute to get your pokemon to 1hp. if the wild pokemon can not break the sub, you can use sleep + switching out to remove the sub, and safely switch in the sub/endeavor pokemon while taking no damage. once you get to 1 hp (use ev training to get a hp that has .25 remainder when divided by 4. example 101 or 405) use endeavor. this will give the target 1hp. endeavour does NOT go through substitute, so if the target has sub you need to break it. further more their are a very small number of moves/pokemon that can attack through a sub. at this point you status and proceed to catch normally. because swipe has a low power, some people like to use att boosting moves on their swiper, or def dropping moves on the wild target. good swipe users generally have a very high att base and are bulky enough to tank a lot of hits. i suggest: -marrowak /w thick club it has sword dance so it can boost up quickly, and thick club doubles its att stat -scizor also has SD and useful typing with a high att base -escalveir see scizor -shedinja immune to a large number of attacks, and also has sword dance -fearow stab swipe, and can learn fly/pay day(does this game have event moves?) -parasect synth insta heal + SD + swipe + spore is useful -breloom SD + spore + swipe is nice link https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/False_Swipe_(move) any high level endeavour user works for sub + endeavour as long as it out speeds target.

  12. jaaaaaaaaaaaaaay o/ and the reason mmo needed a teir council is because it strayed from the games. it allowed some but not all pokemon and some but not all moves and some but not all ability's with a mix of mechanics from multiple gens. if this game had every pokemon and ability and move available in gen 6 then we could just use smogon teirs. as it is now not every move/ability/pokemon has been implemented. if they will be implemented in the next year or so or less then we can just use smogon when everything is here. IF they plan to use some system that does not implement all pokemon to all players, and all moves/abilitys to all players, then they are going to have to do one of three things: -give up on comp -use smogon but have a horribly unbalanced game (counters to thing missing so they become stronger then intended and specific pokemon on every team) -create you own teirs(this wont be easy) hopefully they will just implement everything and we can be lazy and use smogon. also item clause only for vgc and 4v4 format, and freeze clause needs a system in place to turn it on or off cause rng. also not all of these rules apply to every teir. also 50's>100's cause making hundreds of comps is enough work also jay get on offtopic forums o/
