  1. When I said "for many players it can be, (referring to the clutter of players)" I wasn't necessarily referring to ONLY the low-end computer thing. I was also referring to the two examples of when it can hinder the game's progression for a short time, confuse players or alter the game's intended experience. My bad for not making that clear. As always, thank you for the reply.
  2. For you, the clutter might not be that bad. But for many players it can be. Such situations as what badhaxery described: Things like this actually take away from game experience, in a way. Another experience I had was Victory Road, when you battle Moltres at the end. It was so cluttered with people, I didn't even notice Moltres was there until I tried to walk through the cave door and couldn't. I pressed the interact key just to try and see if something was there, and it was Moltres! All of the people completely ruined the effect of seeing the Moltres. Nonetheless, thank you for the reply, both badhaxery and demmyvale.
  3. I don't know if this is difficult/impossible when it comes to the scripting side of PRO, but this would be an awesome feature. Perhaps in Options>Game there is a check mark to "Only see friends" that makes it so all players walking around you disappear and are invisible unless they are on your friend list. It would be like having a private server for just you and your friends. :D All chat etc. would still work normally, it's just that you can't see anybody that isn't a friend. Thanks for reading.
  4. Hello, everyone! This is a guide to help you create a non-steam link on your desktop, that looks like this: And when clicked, the game will open normally with the following displaying to everyone on Steam: And your main profile: So, how do we do this? First, let's navigate to our library by clicking the "Library" button. Then, at the bottom left of the Steam window, click Add A Game, then Non-Steam Game. This will open a window, hit Browse: After you hit Browse, the following will appear: (This may change based on OS) Navigate to where your PRO.exe is stored and click on it. Then, hit Open. Now, hit Add Selected Programs: It will now appear in your Steam library as the EXE's name. If you want to change it do something nicer, right click it and go to Properties. You can also hit Create desktop shortcut here to have the shortcut put there. (You need to use a Steam shortcut or actually go to your library and hit Play for Steam to detect you're playing it. In the Properties, you can change anything you want, then hit close in the bottom right. Again, in order for it to show up on Steam, you must use a shortcut created through Steam, or open it up by hitting PLAY in the Steam library. And that's it. Now you're playing PRO through Steam. :)
  5. Here is a site for you to check out that has all sorts of info like this: https://pokemondb.net/move/all Go ahead and search "Focus Slash" and you'll find all the info you'll need. :) Have fun on your Pokemon Journey. EDIT: Upon actually searching, Focus Slash isn't a move. You'll find moves that you may have meant in the search, though.
  6. Another good idea would be a separate color for your friend's name above them in-game. White is a non-member, green is a member, yellow/orange is NPC, and blue is staff. Perhaps purple could be your friends? EDIT: Someone else suggested this already, my bad. I still think it's a good idea, though.
  7. First gym - Rock type. Second gym - Water type. Third gym - Electric type. Fourth gym - Grass type. There is no single starter Pokemon who can power through all of these gyms using typing advantage alone. Pikachu, much like the anime, hits a wall immediately with the rock gym. Squirtle destroys the rock gym, can do okay with training on the second, but will be destroyed on the third. Charmander has problems with the first gym, and is destroyed the second gym. Bulbasaur gets you farthest on it's own, getting you through all of the gyms with relative ease. The only gym it would get caught up on is Grass, as grass moves against a grass type have half the normal affectiveness. However, this is assuming you only stick with your starter, catch nothing else and only use move types specific to your starter. So, here are your solutions. Pick any starter, but make sure to: Catch Pokemon that counter your starter. If you have a Pikachu, catch a water or fighting type for the rock gym, and so on. Teach your Pokemon moves besides moves that are the same as their type. Before the third gym, you get the TM Dig. Pikachu can learn this, giving you the ability to beat the gym with your starter alone if trained properly. Use your resources! Whether it be wild Pokemon, TMs, or sometimes even HMs, use them! Good luck on your Pokemon journey.
  8. I don't have any problems with PRO, all I see is room to grow. #rhymes
  9. On the topic of FAQs/Guides to help you out, check out this guide by laishiou. It covers common things people get caught up on in the Kanto region.
  10. Here is what I plan to do once I complete every gym/Elite Four: 1. Complete most of the Pokedex 2. Get a team for every competitive tier (level 100, all EV trained.) 3. Make a map and submit it to perhaps become a mapper. 4. Create/join a guild and actively try to make it better. 5. Travel to every single place and find every easter egg. 6. Meet cool people, battle cool people. trade with cool people. 7. And more, I'm sure!
  11. Yeah, moderation would be difficult especially with it being local chat. Perhaps being able to create a microphone channel, then inviting people to it so you could hang out with your guild or friends. This doesn't fix the moderation problem, but it solves the multi-national problem. It would also remove some of the whole exposing children to cursing thing. Thanks for the reply! EDIT: I'd also like to address the possible counter-argument of a group using Teamspeak, Skype, etc. Although this is a possibility, being able to interview people for a guild, for example, can't really be done easily over Skype and TS. With Skype, people can get a handle on your personal info, which is a turnoff for most. With TS, nobody should trust a TS server they aren't familiar with due to the all-too-popular TS update trick. Even if you just wanted to talk to a guy you are battling with and are looking to make a new friend, doing it through PRO would be safer and easier.
  12. Hello PRO staff and users! Today, I bring to you a proposition for mics in-game! Essentially, people would have a 'Microphone' chat in their chat menu with controls. The chat would only be people around you, with a configurable radius. I think this would make Guild meetups a lot of fun. I also have a vision of a 'market' area, defined as one or just a random spot on the map, where people gather to advertise their goods and buy goods via mic. Maybe that's a bit too much of a dream. Anyways, here's an image of the possible control panel: Excuse my terrible Photoshop skills. The actual menu would look better I'm sure, this is just to roughly illustrate my idea. Anyways, take away from it what you want. I think it'd be a fun addition. Perhaps the Mic menu is only available to join if a Mic is detected. Thanks for reading, people! Any replies would be greatly appreciated.
  13. Whoa, those IVs though. They are so good none of them are even above double digits!
  14. If you're looking for Surf, go to the south exit of Fuchsia, talk to Victor on the beach. Defeat his Pikachu, then head back to the Safari at the far north of Fuchsia. Talk to one of the guards inside the gate. It costs $5,000 to enter the Safari Zone for 20 minutes. Surf is in Safari Zone area 3 I believe. Protip: Bring your own Pokeballs!
  15. I agree, thank you to all of the people on the development team. I really enjoy your guys' constant 'easter eggs'. To give a few examples of my favorites: - The whole Ash Ketchum thing. - The mapping room in Celadon. - The Pokeball that contains Nothing in Cinnabar Mansion. (That's right, nothing!) - The nameless Team Rocket grunt that, when you talk to him, complains about how he didn't get a Ratatta to battle with. And so many more.
  16. I also agree with this post. Another thing is the fact you can see XP gain, health change, etc. in your Pokemon party or on your in-battle XP bar when you KO your enemy or you get KO'd before the move actually happens. I'm sure they'll work on it, though. There is so much content it's hard to complain. Nonetheless, it is kind of weird the aforementioned glitches haven't been dealt with assuming they aren't new.
  17. I just caught a shiny Venonat in the Safari Zone. My rarest, and only shiny!
  18. Welcome to PRO. Fellow new player here, also playing on BLUE. Maybe we'll run into each other.
  19. Hello, Pokemon Revolution. My name is Paid! That's my in-game name too, of course. I'm not new to Pokemon, but I am to this multiplayer idea. I love it, though. Nothing is better than sharing Pokemon with your friends. (That is if I can actually get them to play.) I've already bought the membership to show my support for this awesome game and am nearly done with Kanto. I plan on completing the Pokedex (excluding uncapturable/unseeable Pokes.) I also want to make a team for every tier. Anyways, if you actually read this, thanks for reading!
