  1. Man, I remember running away from my first shiny. It was on Pokemon Sapphire. At first, I thought it was the game being buggy, only to realize after a while that it was, indeed, shiny. ...I would like this sort of confirmation, but what I'm curious about is how it will be dealt with. I mean, it should be easy to code, but shinies tend to randomly pop out of nowhere. I'd like to think that just like shinies, the confirmation will start randomly popping out of nowhere whether the pokemon is shiny or not. I haven't ran into a shiny yet, but isn't there some sort of visual indicator that says a pokemon is shiny in this game?
  2. That would require loads of changes to the code. I mean, they could change names and images easily, but when it comes to dealing with scripted events and such, they would probably need to be careful with it. This would also require artists that can replicate the game sprite style. There are a good number of artists out there, but I hope that if they do recruit new artists for something like this, that they would be paying them. It's not a good idea to use an artist without paying for their services (especially for a game this big). There would probably be loads of other things that need to change and such, but these two are the only things that come to mind.
  3. The game is currently pretty laggy and there will be times where it will crash. There will also be times where the game will pause, but the music will continue. If you decide to play the game, I highly suggest looking for something to do while waiting for the visuals to continue. Other than that, I barely started the game and I like it so far. Fairly new, and apparently you can trade your pokemon with other people over their server. It's still single-player for the most part, but when connecting to the internet and such, you're on the server (at least, to my understanding)
  4. I have a job and I enjoy this game, despite its need for players to grind their Pokemon. Honestly, I don't mind grinding and sure this part of playing a game is outdated, but that's just it. I remember grinding my ass off in another MMO just to reborn my characters. That took approximately 4 years. 4 YEARS TO GET THE APPROPRIATE ITEMS, GET TO LEVEL 120 (or 130 for those who want extra stats), AND TO FULFILL A MISSION THAT YOU HAVE TO DO ALONE. What's really scary is that even pay-to-play people were subject to grinding as well because there were LOADS of EXP necessary to level up at the higher levels, no matter how many double exp they got. We even had to traverse the world just to find side-quests. The recent MMOs that have come out of the market are catered to players who have no time to sit down and play for hours on end. To compare such games to Pokemon is quite unfair, if you ask me, because for years, Pokemon is one of those games where you NEED/WANT to grind to be the very best in the game. I don't want to have to throw my character through an auto-path just to get to where I need to go. I love the feeling of exploring and traveling across the lands to search for pokemon I want in my team. Obtaining pokemon through extremely easy quests takes away the enjoyment of the game. And I'll admit that I'm one of those old-school gamers who appreciated the end results of grinding for hours on end. It's one of those amazing feelings that's unexplained, but all you can say is, "Wow, it was all worth it in the end!" To say, "Wow, that was easy!" after 30 seconds makes me feel like accomplished SQUAT.
  5. Welcome to PRO! Hope you enjoy the game :D I'm liking it so far and I'm sure you will too
  6. I stopped watching after Ash started traveling with Dawn. I dunno. I mean after he traveled with May and Max, I felt a bit eh when Dawn came around. However, I have been catching glimpses of the new episodes. Still not interested in watching, but been curious.
  7. IGN: Alavar Why do I want this mouse? Well, I'm going to be saving up for a custom gaming desktop computer and it would be awesome to be provided a gaming mouse to go along with it. :Shy:
  8. What a coincidence. I want a Growlithe as my starter, too. :>c
  9. Oh man, so much welcomes. Thanks, everybody :Shy:
  10. I was looking for character names one day for a character I drew up. Someone then suggested the name "Alavar," so I decided to go along with it. I didn't use the character for long, so I adopted the nickname "Alavar" for myself. Amusingly, it's apparently the name of some sort of Asian seafood sauce? I thought that was pretty interesting
  11. Got a thread or something for me to check up your requirements and such, if there are any? Don't wanna break any guild rules and such. Also-- which server is your guild on?
  12. Yup, you read my title correctly. I want to join a newbie friendly guild in ANY SERVER. Well, technically I've yet to create characters in Blue and Red, but I already have a character barely starting out on Yellow, so there's that. ;v; I have Discord, so there's that, I guess
  13. Oh sweet, thank you so much for answering my questions! ;v;/
  14. Woah, hey everybody. What's up? Yes, I'm a new face here and I'm liking the game so far. So now a few questions: - Which is the most active server? Yellow? - I'm looking for a guild that's willing to allow newbies to join in, because honestly mmos tend to get boring after a while when you play by yourself. - Does the game have all the current generations of pokemon (excluding sun and moon, of course)? Other than that, yeah. I'm here :Shy:
