Well, I decided to just leave it at the login page after i hit the login button and the logging in message disappeared. after several minutes of waiting, it eventually let me into the game. I guess this is what people were talking about with the invisible logins :/

I just made it to the elite four in Kanto; however, I am trying to think of the ideal team to go up against everyone. Any veterans have any suggestions?

There are multiple reasons that I have observed that people do this. Coming from a World of Warcraft background, the obvious is that they would do it in order to get free in game items or in game currency. Others do it just because they like female characters, whereas the other obvious answer is that some identify as a female. Its a complex topic, but that's what came to mind :/
