  1. I can see what the idea was behind this limitation, to let players interact with other players. And I can see the purpose of it back then when the games first came out, but about now I kind of see it as a limitation that's just a bit silly... This idea is not meant to take away the purpose of having players interact with eachother, but instead of this being the only way of doing it, you could also have it as an option, with this idea I suggested being an additional option. I really would prefer spending a bit more money on evolving pokemon this way than finding another player to trade with, but that can also be because of my autism
  2. Before I start writing out this suggestion, I do know this has been suggested before. But I'd still like to share my version of this suggestion so I can work it out of my system and stop thinking about it. The idea is simple, a saddle that allows you to ride your pokemon, but it's a bit more complicated like that. What would be added to the game is a saddle, that you can buy from a NPC for a large price. This saddle is an item, such as the bikes and fishing rods, which can be placed onto your hotbar. When activated this item will place the saddle onto your pokemon in your first slot, and you'll be able to ride this pokemon. But it's not that simple, as there are certain requirements that you need to meet to be able to ride a pokemon. Your pokemon needs to be atleast 1,5x your height, if the pokemon is any shorter the pokemon will be unable to carry you. A pokemon can only be ridden in certain areas. For example [*] The speed at which the pokemon moves depends on the speed of the actual pokemon. This means if you've a pokemon with a slow speed, you'll actually move slow aswell while riding it. Because of this it doesn't mean you'll move as fast as if you were using a mount or bike, but if you choose the pokemon right, you may actually be able to move just as fast as a mount or bike. [*] Each pokemon has a certain stamina, that's calculated between strength and speed, and if your pokemon runs out of stamina, you won't be able to ride the pokemon unless it's recovered it's stamina. You can also recover stamina by going to a pokemon center or by giving the pokemon potions or giving the pokemon enough rest to recover stamina. Be careful though, if a pokemon runs completely out of stamina, the pokemon will faint and you'll not be able to use the pokemon in battle anymore. Your pokemon also needs sufficient stamina to be able to carry you, so a lower level pokemon will not have enough stamina to carry you. [*] A pokemon will also need to have alot of happiness, because you wouldn't carry someone either if you don't like them. There's also some benefits using the saddle on pokemon, such as... You will not be attacked while riding a pokemon by wild pokemon that are 5 levers lower or below the current level of your pokemon. This works as if you're using repel. You'll be able to reach certain areas in a map using flying pokemon that'd otherwise require you to use cut, are cliffs that you cannot cross or would not be reachable by default. Some pokemon are able to jump, these pokemon can jump over cliffs and cross them, which otherwise would not be possible. Pokemon that give of light can be used as a light source in dark caves, so you do not need to use a pokemon with flash. in rare cases, you might actually be able to move faster than a normal mount. There's also some downsides to this idea that I'd like to mention, such as... Some pokemon sprites would need to be reworked to correctly display the size of that pokemon (such as charizard, blastoise and venusaur) Each pokemon needs to be looked at, to see if that pokemon can be ridden, and which special riding abilities that pokemon would have A stamina system would need to be added to each pokemon, along with potions to recover stamina. If the sprite of a pokemon is correctly scaled I guess it should be possible to just simply place the skin of a player ontop of the sprite of a pokemon to make it look like you're riding a pokemon. And as mentioned before, I know it's been suggested before and it'll most probably not be added, but this is my version of it that I wanted to share.
  3. I'm a player who likes multiplayer games, but who doesn't like being forced to interact with other players. I know it sounds weird for someone like that playing a MMO, but I like having the option of playing with others and not being forced to. So a problem I'm running into is evolutions that require another player to trade with. You need the help of another player to evolve a pokemon that requires trading, this means you need to find someone who's online and someone who's trustworthy, which I actually find annoying. So I've started thinking of perhaps a different way of evolving these pokemon, without the help of others. And so I came with the idea of Ivo, the Evolving Professor. Ivo is a professor, like Prof. Oak, who's dedicated his life on researching the evolution process of pokemon. But Ivo has always been interested the most in special kinds of evolutions, the one that require trading for an evolution to happen. How do these kinds of evolutions happen, why do they happen and how do they work? Interested in this, Ivo has spend years on creating a system that allows a trainer to evolve a pokemon that require a trade through a computer system, instead of requiring another trainer. After having spend all his funds on his research, Ivo has been able to place a terminal in every pokemon centre across the world, which can be found on the first floor of a pokemon centre. But sadly, Ivo still requires more funds to continue his research, so he needs a way to make money. Because of this, to actually be able to use his terminals, you first need to sign up for a subscription to his services. For a total of $25k, you gain access to his terminals for the rest of your life, so Ivo can continue his research. Each terminal can be used for several things. * For one, it can tell you all the evolutions of a pokemon * The terminal can also tell you when a pokemon will evolve * Or what a pokemon requires to evolve such as items. * But the most wanted feature, is the feature to evolve pokemon requiring trades. You need to carry the pokemon that you want to evolve in your belt, and by accessing the terminal and choosing the trade-evolution, the system will first check if a pokemon has met all the requirements for the trade-evolution. But for this process to work, it requires alot of resources, so you'll have to pay a certain fee to trade-evolve your pokemon, for a price of $7k. Once you've paid the fee and prepared your pokemon that you want to trade-evolve with the items needed, you can start the process and submit your pokemon into the system. After the process is done, you'll receive the evolved pokemon back into your inventory. Because this is in fact still a trade, you'll still require 4 Gym badges before you can use this system. This suggestion may improve the game quality, as it's another money sink that's added in the game for people to spend their money on, and it prevents the danger of getting scammed when you try to evolve your pokemon with other players. Do note, players can still trade pokemon with others to evolve these pokemon, free of charge. This is just an alternative for players like me who like to evolve their pokemon without the help of others.

    HM-player

Sadly I can't search if this has been suggested before or not, because HM is too short a word to search for, so I don't know if this has been suggested before. This suggestion is also for something which has not been done in the game so far, as far as I know, so I understand that there's a good chance this will not be added. I've always been annoyed to hell that you either need to sacrifice skill slots or pokemon slots (HM slaves) to be able to use HM's, so I was thinking of a possible alternative for this problem. With that in mind, I was thinking of a tool/gadget/machine that a player can obtain. With this gadget (HM-player) you can input the HM-discs into the player, and you'll be able to use these moves through the HM-player. But to balance an item like this out, there's some requirements... The move will still be carried out by a pokemon, and that pokemon is temporarily able to use the move with the use of the HM-Player, but the pokemon can not use the move in a bottle, the pokemon can only use it in the world. To use a move, you still need to select a pokemon that would actually be able to learn the move, so for example you can't use surf with a charmander. When the HM is inside the player, you cannot use that HM to teach the move to pokemon anymore, once it's inside the HM-player, it cannot be retrieved. However, you're able to copy the data from the HM-disc onto a blank disc while it's in the HM-player. For this you'll need to visit a certain NPC who'll do this for you for a certain price. Each time you create another copy of a HM, the cost for this process will exponentially increase, thus it's not viable to use this method to create several duplicates of a HM for sale. The HM-player starts out with just 1 slot for a HM disc, but each time you gain a badge, you can upgrade your HM-player to gain another slot. the HM-player can be upgraded at the game house in each town (perhaps in the pokecenter's first floor?) The HM-player uses energy to function, and each time you use a move, it'll use up energy. The HM-player gets it's energy from batteries, which will deplete after several uses. With each upgrade the HM-player becomes more efficient power-wise and you'll be able to get more uses out of a battery. Batteries can be bought from the store and can be stored inside your backpack. Hopefully these requirements for the HM-player are enough for the devs to consider adding an item like this to the game.
