  9. The advantages of an auction house are readily apparent. It is easier to trade things. Lowballing, false b/os, and trolling in trade is eliminated which, in turn, creates less work for the PRO staff. Additionally, it is easier for general prices to be determined. Auction houses have become familiar or expected throughout MMOs. Essentially, I would like to oppose a server-wide auction house and compromise on hub auction houses instead which would be a few auction houses dispersed throughout the various regions. However, even with these great advantages, I feel there are multiple disadvantages to implementing an auction house that should also be considered. However, I want to briefly discuss the primary disadvantage that should be considered which is social interaction. Social interaction is really key to MMOs. From various MMO sites, it is clearly seen that one of the biggest factors for player retention is the players they are able to connect with and enjoy playing with. Multiple friends can be developed through trading, but with centralization, that could be eliminated altogether. It can change the community environment. This has been seen in a variety of MMOs where an auction house or LFG system is implemented. Currently, if an individual decides to be overly obnoxious or rude to people, the individual could potentially be blacklisted or become ignored. The market has punished this individual for his demeanor. Auction houses basically eliminate the need for any courtesy. Farm those pokedollars, buy pokemon off the AH, tell everyone how OP you are could be a trend that results for many individuals. Recently, some MMOs have been attempting to alter the standard auction house. On a triple A scale, Elder Scrolls Online does not have a server-wide auction house, but instead, it has auction houses within guilds while being able to join five guilds. On a smaller scale, Albion Online utilizes hub auction houses which still keep some level of player interaction there. I do not want to make this too lengthy to allow for further discussion, but, in conclusion, PRO's community is quite friendly and welcoming. I am glad to be a part of it, and I would not want to see it become altered as the result of an auction house such as in many other games like Runescape.
  10. Introduction Kanto, this is the place you start your PRO journey. You get placed in the middle of nowhere and are instructed to move. You then begin to gain badges, catch pokemon, and get sent to the pokemon center by wiping out to wild magikarps. You suffered through Giovanni's OP mewtwo, and now you have 8 badges. Or perhaps, you already started on Johto or finished the story. Regardless, this is just the beginning of your journey to catch 'em all. Introducing.... Catch 'Em Corp where our goal is to catch them all, get mew, and develop our pokemon to become competitive battlers. Some things we plan to do are trading our pokemon temporarily for dex purposes, fun battles & possibly a tournament, organizing a guild trading shop, and efficiently work together to accomplish our individual and collective goals. The guild was created as of 12/26/2015 as of 9:55 p.m. MST. Current members: 13/50 Who we are looking for: -18+ years old (rare exceptions possible) -8 badges minimum in Kanto, preferably on or completed with Johto though. -English as primary language -Active daily or near daily, preferably for multiple hours per day. -Laid-back, slightly trollzy, or fun personality. We want a fun group of players. -Both genders welcome and will be treated the same. -Mic is encouraged as we will likely use voice comms in the future, but not required. -LoL player = +++++++ Questions & Joining If you have any questions, please feel free to post them here or ask me ingame (Immortal).
