  1. I didn't know you can catch level 1s in the game. That's weird. The shiny thing isn't really a reason to claim matsuda method though. Lots of people have shinies just because there's so many people playing. There is no breeding though, as Kairey said.
  2. To be fair, no game can survive on the "pay once" method. Most of the games that started with that died, and that method is usually only used for dying subscription-based games that need to try to pull in more membership in hopes they'll buy item mall stuff. Though I definitely agree with the game not being in a state I feel is worth membership. Though that's my own personal frugality. It's not that it's a subscription base, just that I personally would only want it if it has login priority, though I respect the Admin's choice to not implement it. Because a free game with no company budget could POSSIBLY run without accepting real money purchases right off the bat. Servers cost money, and these guys are (I'm pretty sure) doing this as a passion project without a profit. You shouldn't be demanding they run this game at a LOSS. You have plenty of warning to know this game is in beta and has server stability issues and crashes. It's plastered everywhere. And the purchase page for membership clearly lists what you get for membership, you don't get anything else. As far as "accidentally" purchasing your membership if that's what you mean, Paypal asks for a confirmation of the transfer. It's on you if you "accidentally" give them money. It's not a trick.
  3. While you are technically correct, Pay to Win isn't even being discussed here. We're talking about pay to play if anything, and it's not even that since free people would still be able to play even if they implemented priority login for members. Pay to Win would be if only members could catch Legendaries, Pseudo-Legendaries, and Starters (and other Pokemon that typically have higher stat totals) or if Members could level their Pokemon to level 200 and free players could only level to 100, giving members a clear advantage unobtainable for free members. Only discussing this here because I don't like the term "pay to win" being misused as it's starting to become a poisonous term to the games industry when so many people throw it around without knowing what it means. This game is in BETA. Beta has rollbacks, sometimes even full account wipes. You're not owed anything.
  4. Well the server just crashed around this time and the client crashed as well over it (was in the middle of a battle too. :Bored: ). So that was probably the cause of the crash at least this time.
  5. Might want to ask the Admins for permission before you use automated software to play the game. It can easily be seen as against the TOS and get you banned, regardless of intention.
  6. You're not paying for access to the server as a Member. You're donating for some perks. If you don't like this, you can always stop donating but that only will make the problem worse because they expand the servers from donations. As people have said, you can get in during any time of the day just by doing multiple attempts to log in. Also servers will not be increased that much so quickly. It would cause problems. They have been increasing it by increments 50 to keep the servers stable.
  7. They have no sprites yet, same counts for many more gen 5-6 Pokemon As said, we are still in BETA, which means still in developement. The moves will work in the future. I understand, but it would be better to give priority to these cases with what you already have on the server, resolve these issues before adding a new region, which will surely come to have other problems? Will turn a snowball, which is missing many moves that should not be missing, skills, bugs .. That's what I think, you know? This is not to criticize, but to give an opinion, I know it's still in BETA and will improve. But so I think the priority should be what we have on the server, solve before adding new thing = / I as a player and playing every day, I know what the guys think, and really these moves and bugadas skills, hinder the pvp for example, which is the focus after a set time. I believe that solving this, the guys will have a base to play without pressing you guys or something. The game is very good and so tends to improve. Well that's it, so I have left to wait: D In Game Development, you want to release the big stuff first. Major maps, mechanics, features, scripts, all need the longest to be tested and thus need to be put out as soon as possible so there's the most time for testing. Protean would take 10 minutes MAX for a tester to test and confirm working, how many DAYS would it take for a whole map, which includes scripts, NPCs, new spawns, etc. to be tested? A lot. In that time, developers can be adding the small stuff like abilities that won't take that much time to test and thus won't delay the Beta ending. It's all about efficiency.
  8. This Generation: 3DS, PS4, PSVita (if you can even count that thing as still alive) Previous generations I have: Gamecube, Wii, PS2, PS3, GB Color, GB Advanced (SP and original), and DS (DSi and Original). I primarily game on my PC though.

    DOTA2 or LOL?

I prefer League of Legends. Tried most of the other MOBAs, especially DOTA2, and found they had mechanics I just really didn't gel with.
  10. It must be a bug that I'm not losing money then. :Nervous: Because I specifically have checked when blacking out if my money changed and it didn't. Guess I'll have to be more careful from now on, but perhaps a "You blacked out and lost X Money" would be a good idea.
  11. Game is in Beta. Not everything is going to be working properly. That's not really "unfair" that's just how things are at the moment, and it will be fixed eventually.

    Login Queue System

Very cool to hear! Knew you guys were working on it but didn't know it was so close to being implemented.
  13. People are kicked off after about 7-8 minutes of inactivity. Logging out all people each hour would interrupt battles and cause far too many problems. A login Queue is in the works though and I'm pretty sure is a high priority.
  14. Yes, unfortunately (or fortunately depending on how you look at it) PRO is highly popular and the player base is expanding faster than the Admins can gain funds and expand the servers to cope with the amount of players. If you repeatedly spam the login button, you can usually weasel your way into the game within about 5-10 minutes. Dead times are usually at night EST from around 8PM to 5AM because a large amount of the players are European and are in bed.
  15. Currently servers are full, that's probably your problem.
  16. Off hours usually start around 8ish EST, I think. Not sure exactly, but I know the later into the night it gets my time, there starts to be like 100-400 open slots.
  17. Been using Lightshot for several years now and it's always been my favorite.
  18. Pickup isn't available yet. If it was, the items would show up equipped to your Aipom, not just in your bag, so you probably picked them up randomly from Pokeballs or from NPCs.
  19. Sounds super fun! Maybe I can beat the rest of Kanto and all of Johto by then? Probably not. :Frown:
  20. Queues are already planned. If the server crashes or restarts and it's only for a short time (a few hours even) there's no point in announcing it. Besides, it seems to crash most frequently in the middle of the night when people who would be able to announce it are asleep it seems.
  21. Given that this is a multiplayer game, they follow the actual "Set" rules of Pokemon which are used for multiplayer in the actual games. I doubt this will be changed.

  23. I honestly see absolutely nothing wrong with a pseudo pay-to-play during the Beta experience. Most MMORPGs (that intend to be free upon full release) already have people paying for Alpha and Beta access, if anything, a pseudo system would be more fair than the current norm of the industry just because it gives non-paying players a chance. Plus, as sworn20 said, giving people a true incentive to donate means more server capacity for everyone. As for the "what if there are more than 1800 donators," there could be, but the likelihood of them all being on at the same time is none. If there are so many donators that at any given time, 1800+ of them are on, we'd see higher server capabilities already. Also as far as my personal input, I'm not a donator, I don't want to donate because I don't see the point of paying for something I can't play whenever I want. I would definitely donate if it meant I could get into the servers in a timely, hassle free manner.
  24. Server is currently offline (probably a crash, and it crashed a few hours ago as well which was probably the initial issue too) you can see server status on the main page or in the upper right hand corner of the client.
