The following bug occurred to me on Gold:

 

I can not battle Jackson:

Talking to his mother does not change anything, as if I lost the battle. (If I see Jackson I should tell him she misses him.)

I can't go to Viridian Forest, the old man refers to the Pokémon School.

Talking to the receptionist does not change anything.
