IDP.Generic PROClient.exe error

Recommended Posts

Hi, good afternoon.

First of all, I'm deeply sorry if I'm not in the right place to ask help for this but... here we go:

I'm having a issue with this virus or whatever it is. Everytime I open PROClient.exe and start playing the game suddenly it closes generating an error named IDP.Generic seen by Avast Antivirus as a threat. I already tried reinstalling the game but the problem persists. And also tried to scanning the PRO files but nothing was found. What can I do? Thanks in advance.

Hello there. Sorry for the inconvenience. Don't be alarmed It's not a virus, I also use Avast as my antivirus and let me tell it always does this with every new PRO client I download.

The alert from your anti-virus was merely a false positive that was triggered and your computer is safe as long as you are downloading from the official download links.

The reason why there is a false positive in the system is due to how we obfuscate our code to make our client more secure. As most viruses are also hidden in the same manner, the anti-virus detects it as a potential threat anyway. I hope this clears up your concerns; if you want to do any further testing, you are free to test do some testing; here's a Guide on Troubleshooting False Positives; VirusTotal is also a good site as another check to determine a possible virus. Feel free to test PRO files.

To stop Avast handling the PRO Client as a virus you have to add "PROClient.exe" as an exception in your antivirus. Here's is a How-To Guide for Avast.

Please keep us informed If the problem got resolved or you have any more questions.
