Wasn't sure where to put this as feedback, but honestly the exp for early johto is absurdly low, after the 2nd gym u still find level 5-8 pokemon.... that's almost the same as before the 1st gym, and the enemies have pokemon around the 20ish mark. I think maybe it should be toned up a bit after the 2nd gym at least. Level 30 farfetche'd while u farm on lv5-8's feels poor.

The level are the same like in the original games. Also the Power spike isn't that huge, back in september/october there were lvl 60+ pokemon after olivine city quest. It was lowered to lvl 40+. Also my advise for johto: use the good rod and defeat water pokemon. they are certain levels higher than the wild grass pokemon.

How do you do if we didn't buy the super rod in Kanto ? We can't go back..

super rod isn't obtained in kanto. good rod is. if you didn't get the good rod than you'll have to level up on wild pokes/trainers or buy a high lvl pokemon from other players

headbutt trees are a good 3-4 levels higher than wild pokemon in the area.

 

that should help temporarily until i write up a solution for decent level scaling for johto.
